Rapper Iggy Azalea shut down her Instagram and Twitter accounts on Monday, May 27 after nude photos of her leaked all over the internet — which left her feeling extremely violated.
The singer claimed in a now-deleted statement that the topless pictures that surfaced online over the weekend were from a 2016 GQ magazine photo shoot.
“There was no reason for anyone to have kept the outtakes from the shoot,” she wrote. “I’m surprised and angry that they were not immediately deleted after the final images were selected.”
The photos that were published on GQ Australia’s site were more covered up, so Iggy said that she felt comfortable posing topless — not thinking that the private pictures would eventually be leaked.
“A lot of high profile women have shot covers for GQ with a strategically placed hand, etc, covering their breasts,” she explained. “I always felt they were very beautiful covers, so I jumped at the opportunity. I hadn’t seen other women’s covers leak so I felt comfortable (on a closed set) to model for such a reputable magazine knowing only the images with my hands covering [my breasts] would be considered for print.”
The star went on to explain how upset she is that someone released these pictures without her consent.
“I feel blindsided, embarrassed, violated, angry, sad and a million other things,” the 28-year old wrote. “Not solely because I did not consent to this — but also because of the vile way people have reacted.”
After seeing many negative comments, the “Fancy” singer deactivated her social media accounts for the time being.
“It is too much negativity for me to handle. For now it’s best to keep my accounts deactivated. Please be kinder to one another,” she concluded in her social media statement.
Not only did Iggy say in her statement that she intends on “pressing criminal charges in regards to this,” but the photographer who handled the GQ photo shoot, Nino Munoz, took to Instagram on Monday to address the scandal as well.

We’re glad Iggy is taking a break from all the negatively online during this time.

Iggy Azalea feels "embarrassed and violated" after nude photographs of her were leaked online.
The 28-year-old rapper has made a statement after topless photographs of her, which were taken during a shoot for GQ Australia in 2016, but never meant for publication, appeared on the internet over the weekend - motivating her to delete her social media accounts.
The 'Fancy' hitmaker insists that although she's "angry and surprised" the images have surfaced it's the "vicious" and "vile" reactions to the photos including lurid male "fantasies" that led to her deactivating all her social media accounts.
In a statement posted to her Twitter account before she deactivated it, she wrote: "I am a ball of negative emotions. I feel blindsided, embarrassed, violated, angry and sad. Not only because I did not consent to this - but also because of the vile way people reacted."
She continued: "A lot of the comments I see, from men in particular, sharing their thoughts and fantasies in regards to my body has honestly disturbed me. The outright wicked things people say is overwhelming and makes me feel like throwing up.
"If you've ever been humiliated before in front of family and those you care about, maybe you can relate to what I'm going through."
Iggy compared the leak to "a nuclear bomb" which "destroys you emotionally, but leaves a path of destruction in your personal life" and insisted that she "fully intends" on pressing criminal charges should she find out where the leak came from.
The pop star went on to explain that she felt "comfortable" taking the pictures at the time, including the topless spare shots, as she had assurances over what images would be published.
She said: "A lot of high profile women have shot covers for GQ with a strategically placed hand etc covering their breasts etc. I always felt they were very beautiful covers, so I jumped at the opportunity.
"[I] felt comfortable [on a closed set] to model for such a reputable magazine knowing only the images with my hands covering would be considered for print. I never consented to taking topless pictures for potential release, period."

Iggy Azalea is stripping down to celebrate the release of her new EP, " Survive The Summer ."
The "Fancy" hitmaker took to Instagram on the eve of the EP's release on Thursday night to share several photos of herself posing completely nude on a tennis court while wearing just neon green pumps and a matching oversized Prada bag .
"Haters can’t stand me but they love me at the bank," she captioned one of the photos.
"I need my bag qui.ck.ly ," she wrote under another one.
She posted the photos just as " Survive The Summer " was released. The new collection of songs serves as the much-delayed follow-up to 2014's " The New Classic ," which was the album that catapulted Azalea to become a household name off the backs of hits like "Fancy" and "Black Widow."

Iggy Azalea is baring it all as she continues to promote the release of her new Survive the Summer EP.
On Thursday night (Aug. 2), just a few hours before the project's anticipated arrival the " Tokyo Snow Trip " rapper stripped down to show off her assets on Instagram. In the series of photos, Iggy is seen sporting only a pair of neon heels which complement her equally striking purse.
Along with the photos, the Aussie babe seemingly addresses her growing number of naysayers. "Haters can't stand me but they love me at the bank," she captioned a shot of herself holding her breasts as she stands nude on a tennis court. The rapper also shared a a bit of behind-the-scenes footage on her Instagram story, captioning one video: "It's not just a bag...It's Prada."
Several years in the making, Survive the Summer serves as a follow up to Iggy's 2014 debut The New Classic . The six-track effort features the lyrical contributions of rap vets Wiz Khalifa and Tyga. The latter was credited for adding his signature sound to the strip club banger " Kream " and it's stirring accompanying visual which features a bout of twerking.
Take a look at the stunning photos of Iggy Azalea baring it all below.
