This week, the star noticeably deactivated her social media accounts, seemingly over leaked photos of the rapper. On Monday, the Grammy nominee issued a since-deleted statement on the leaked images, explaining they are outtakes from a 2016 GQ cover shoot.
"A lot of high profile women have shot covers for GQ with a strategically placed hand etc covering their breasts etc I always felt they were very beautiful covers, so I jumped at the opportunity," she explained online.
"I hadn't seen other women's covers leak so I felt comfortable (on a closed set) to model for such a reputable magazine knowing only the images with my hands covering would be considered for print. I never consented to taking topless pictures for potential release, period. It was my understanding BEFORE shooting, GQ do not print topless pictures."
Azalea continued, "There was no reason for anyone to have kept the outtakes from the shoot. I'm surprised and angry that they were not immediately deleted after the final images were selected." E! News has reached out to GQ for comment.
As for how Azalea is doing following the leak, she wrote, "Today Im a ball of negative emotions."
"I feel blindsided, embarrassed, violated, angry, sad and a million other things," she candidly described. "Not solely because I did not consent to this – but also because of the vile way people have reacted. A lot of the comments I see from men in particular taking things even further and sharing their thoughts and fantasies in regards to my body has honestly disturbed me. The outright wicked things people say is overwhelming & makes me feel like throwing up."
As her message continued, she likened the situation to a nuclear bomb exploding. "If you've ever been humiliated before in front of family & those you care about maybe you can relate to what I'm going though [sic]. It's like a nuclear bomb that explodes and not only destroys you emotionally, but leaves a path of destruction in your personal life, effecting [sic] your relationships & people who matter most too," she star said.
Azalea noted she intends on finding out the origin of the leak and pressing criminal charges. "It's important to me that someone actually be held accountable for their actions & the way it impacts my life," she said.
The rapper explained she does not feel there is anywhere she can retreat to and thinks it is best to keep her accounts deactivated considering the negative things she's seen written about herself.
"Please be kinder to one another," the star encouraged as the statement concluded.

Iggy Azalea has deleted all her social media accounts after her topless modelling photos were leaked without her permission.
The Australian rapper's Twitter and Instagram accounts were deactivated on Monday, just hours after unpublished 'outtakes' from a 2016 GQ magazine photo shoot were circulated online.
The leaked images, which were taken by photographer Nino Muñoz, show Iggy posing with her breasts exposed in nothing but a pair of white pajama shorts.
'I feel violated': Iggy Azalea has been left 'blindsided' after topless photos she took for her plastic surgeon Dr Ashkan Ghavami in 2016 were leaked online over the weekend
Iggy addressed the leak on Twitter on Monday before deleting her account.
She wrote: 'A lot of high profile women have shot covers for GQ with a strategically placed hand, etc., covering their breasts etc. I always felt they were very beautiful covers, so I jumped at the opportunity.
'I hadn't seen other women's covers leak so I felt comfortable (on a closed set) to model for such a reputable magazine knowing only the images with my hands covering [my breasts] would be considered for print.'
Iggy added that she 'never consented' to having her topless photos released, explaining that 'it was my understanding... GQ do not print topless pictures.'

She went on to criticise trolls for making vulgar comments in response to the topless photo leak, saying that reading them made her feel physically ill.

Meanwhile, photographer Nino Muñoz issued his own statement via Instagram on Tuesday morning, writing: 'My heart goes out to anyone this situation has affected. I’m utterly outraged and will not rest until justice is served.'
'I'm outraged and saddened to find out that images of mine were stolen and published without my permission. There is currently an investigation underway. Posting these stolen images is illegal and anyone who has done so will be prosecuted.'
'I empathise with any discomfort that this situation has caused to anyone that is involved,' he concluded.
GQ Australia editor Michael Christensen said: 'We were very disappointed to learn that outtakes from a 2016 photo shoot which were not approved or intended for publication appear to have been stolen from the photographer.
'We understand an investigation is underway and join the condemnation of the publication of these images.'
Context: Censored images from Iggy's 2016 photo shoot are still available on GQ's website , along with a story explaining how the topless photos were not intended for publication but were a 'birthday gift' for her plastic surgeon Dr Ashkan Ghavami
Censored images from Iggy's 2016 photo shoot are still available on GQ's website , along with a story explaining how the topless photos were not intended for publication but were a 'birthday gift' for her plastic surgeon Dr Ashkan Ghavami.
Dr Ghavami had performed Iggy's breast augmentation a year before the photos were taken, and the musician has praised his work in the past.
Meanwhile, it's not the first time Iggy has quit social media without warning.
Back in 2015, she deactivated her Instagram and Twitter accounts after she was body-shamed by trolls while on holiday.
'I don't care about being relevant. I just want to live my life,' she said at the time.
'That's just human decency and if it's hard for you to understand then you have a warped sense of reality.'

UPDATE: Hours after the surfacing of nude photos she'd taken for a 2016 GQ Australia photoshoot on Monday (May 27), Iggy Azalea re-activated her Twitter account and released a statement on the matter.
In the statement, which was written on what appear to be virtual iPhone Notes sheets, Iggy expresses her disappointment and frustration with both the leak of the photos and the reactions to the images. She plans to take the issue to court.
"I fully intend on finding out where the leak originated from and pressing criminal charges."
You can read everything Iggy has to say about the matter for yourself in the screenshots below:
Iggy Azalea has deactivated her Twitter and Instagram accounts after nude photos of her leaked onto the internet on Monday (May 27).
News of the leak began to permeate the internet earlier today. The pics reportedly come from a photo shoot that allegedly took place years ago, and the session was shot by photographer Nino Muñoz for GQ Australia . However, afterward Iggy apparently opposed their release and they were not to be put out. Somehow, they made their way to the internet. After having an abundance of inappropriate comments flood her social media accounts, Iggy decided to leave social media for the time being.
This isn't the first time Iggy has deactivated her social media accounts. In 2015, the former XXL Freshman quit Instagram and Twitter. That time, she offered a statement before leaving social media.
“I don’t care about being relevant. I just want to live my life and deserve for whatever I do in the privacy of my own property not to be on a blog," she wrote. "That’s just human decency and if it’s hard for you to understand then you have a warped sense of reality. I’m not here for yall, don’t want or need you to talk about me and would be wildly happy if being irrelevant meant being able to check the mail in the morning without seeing a photographer hiding out in a car across the street. Peace!”
XXL has reached out to Iggy's camp for comment on the leak.
