UPDATE: Hours after the surfacing of nude photos she'd taken for a 2016 GQ Australia photoshoot on Monday (May 27), Iggy Azalea re-activated her Twitter account and released a statement on the matter.
In the statement, which was written on what appear to be virtual iPhone Notes sheets, Iggy expresses her disappointment and frustration with both the leak of the photos and the reactions to the images. She plans to take the issue to court.
"I fully intend on finding out where the leak originated from and pressing criminal charges."
You can read everything Iggy has to say about the matter for yourself in the screenshots below:
Iggy Azalea has deactivated her Twitter and Instagram accounts after nude photos of her leaked onto the internet on Monday (May 27).
News of the leak began to permeate the internet earlier today. The pics reportedly come from a photo shoot that allegedly took place years ago, and the session was shot by photographer Nino Muñoz for GQ Australia . However, afterward Iggy apparently opposed their release and they were not to be put out. Somehow, they made their way to the internet. After having an abundance of inappropriate comments flood her social media accounts, Iggy decided to leave social media for the time being.
This isn't the first time Iggy has deactivated her social media accounts. In 2015, the former XXL Freshman quit Instagram and Twitter. That time, she offered a statement before leaving social media.
“I don’t care about being relevant. I just want to live my life and deserve for whatever I do in the privacy of my own property not to be on a blog," she wrote. "That’s just human decency and if it’s hard for you to understand then you have a warped sense of reality. I’m not here for yall, don’t want or need you to talk about me and would be wildly happy if being irrelevant meant being able to check the mail in the morning without seeing a photographer hiding out in a car across the street. Peace!”
XXL has reached out to Iggy's camp for comment on the leak.

Iggy Azalea has vowed to press charges against GQ magazine after topless pics were leaked online following photoshoot
Iggy Azalea has vowed to take legal action against a magazine that leaked topless pictures taken for a photoshoot, leaving her 'feeling violated'.
The Syndney-born musician had posed for GQ Australia in 2016 but outtakes from the shoot have now appeared on the internet.
The 28-year-old rapper has promised to press charges after stating she feels "violated" despite Nino Munoz, the photographer, stating he was "outraged" that his pictures were found online.
There is no suggestion GQ were involved in the leak and Munoz has said he "will not rest until justice is served".
The pictures leaked onto the internet last week.
Iggy released a statement on Monday, which she posted on her social media before deleting all of her accounts.
It read: "Today I am a ball of negative emotions. I feel blindsided, embarrassed, violated, angry, sad and a million other things.
"Not solely because I did not consent to this - but also because of the vile way people have reacted."
Azalea, who is famous for Black Widow and Fancy among other songs, said she has been "disturbed" by some of the comments about her body from men, adding: "The outright wicked things people say is overwhelming & makes me feel like throwing up."
Azalea described the experience of being the victim of leaks as like a "nuclear bomb that explodes".
She said: "If you've ever been humiliated before in front of your family & those you care about maybe you can relate to what I'm going through.
"It's like a nuclear bomb that explodes and not only destroys you emotionally, but leaves a path of destruction in your personal life, affecting your relationships & people who matter most too."
And she vowed to press charges against the person who leaked the pictures. She said: "It's important to me that someone actually be held accountable for their actions & the way it impacts my life.
"I don't feel there is any where I can retreat to or that I have a 'happy place' I can wait in until it all blows over.
"Please think of how you might feel if the shoe was yours to wear."
Azaela said she will be keeping her social media accounts deactivated "for now".
She added: "Please be kinder to one another."

Followers of Iggy Azalea ’s Instagram account are well used to seeing revealing photos of her figure displayed on her page. However, Azalea seems to have considerably ramped up her efforts in the sex-kitten department of late — in the past few weeks, she’s gone from merely posing in skimpy outfits to showing off all-out nude portraits.
A post shared by Iggy Azalea (@thenewclassic) on Jun 12, 2018 at 2:18pm PDT
The shots are — relatively — tasteful (enough to conform to Instagram’s “artistic” nudity standards , anyway). But apparently, some fans have been raising eyebrows — or, at the very least, have been confused as to why her account has taken such a sizzling turn.
The “Fancy” singer/rapper has clapped back at the haters in a series of tweets, saying the photos are her latest form of creative release.
As she explained, she doesn’t have full control over her musical output…
Say what you want about me posting pictures on instagram but honestly, it gives me something else creative i can focus on – when sometimes im in a dark place or i feel stagnant. Most days i want my project to drop, yesterday! but i dont get to make those choices.
— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 19, 2018
…and the photos are something she can focus on independently.
and maybe its silly, but it really has been helping me lately to feel more postive and just keep my mind in a creative space constantly thinking of new visual things and color palates. Im really glad ive got something i can do without needing permission.
— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 19, 2018
Azalea also explained that she uses Instagram as a coping device for mental issues.
Its not easy when you are fundamentally someone who struggles with depression and anxiety but im hopefull still everytime that maybe, eventually things will change. please know im doing everything i can. i really care, for you guys. and i love your messages you send me. thanks.
— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 19, 2018
She went on to reflect, “I f it were up to me I’d be releasing songs at the same rate I post pictures,” and added a note of gratitude for anyone who supports her creative efforts.
It seems she has plenty of those in her corner. Fans responded on Twitter to her comments overwhelmingly on the positive side, sending glowing affirmations — both for her photographs and for her bravery in confessing her struggles with depression and anxiety.
I can’t find one reason that people would be complaining about your pics. They’re literally perfection 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

The reckoning will be when you find the purpose and meaning to the struggle you experience. It has a purpose Iggy, and from it you will rise. On another note thanks for your honest words and don’t ever feel like you have to explain yourself to anybody. Still love and admire you.
