If you can't help yourself, help others!
“If you can't help yourself, help others!”
My doctor gave me this advice years ago, and I've lived by it ever since. All my projects here on Telegram are basically based on this one simple sentence.
It's amazing what power there is in giving, especially in times when we feel lost or weak ourselves. By reaching out to the suffering and needs of others, we often manage to take a step out of our own darkness. Because even in our weakest moments, we can be a source of strength for others.
It doesn't have to be much - sometimes all it takes is an open ear, a smile or a small gesture of kindness. It is these seemingly inconspicuous acts that can make the biggest difference and ignite the light in another life. Or to put it another way: when we give what we are good at to others - especially those who need it most - life becomes a little easier for all of us. Because everyone carries their own baggage, and it often helps to support each other.
The distraction from our own grief, the letting go of our worries or the new, clearer perspective - these are all gifts that we receive by giving. And sometimes, without us expecting it, this sown goodness returns to us like a ray of light that breaks through our own darkness.
Sometimes the hand you give is the hand that holds you.👩❤️💋👨
