DMM, Idol Wars Z ‘s publisher and developer, made the announcement on the in-game news board that they will be closing down both the all-ages and adult versions of Idol Wars Z on May 31st, 2017. The closure of IWZ comes less than a year since its release on the adult gaming platform Nutaku, and joins the long list of other F2P titles on the platform that have been shuttered recently.
While no exact reason for the game’s closure has been publicly stated, Nutaku’s Nordland briefly mentioned Idol War Z’s closure during her Nutaku Twitch stream yesterday. At around 9:10 in the video, she stated that she did not know why IWZ was closing, but that developers could pull their game off of the platform at any time that they want so long as it doesn’t breach contract, and that “the developers didn’t want it on Nutaku anymore.”
Players of Idol Wars Z will be able to obtain compensation on Kamihime Project and/or Dragon Providence. Below you will find details on the closing schedule for the title, as well as compensation details and their requirements.
-Remove all items purchasable with Nutaku Gold from the shop.
-Remove all Gacha purchasable with Nutaku Gold.
-Login Bonus Idols will be able to Limit Break with SR/SSR Limit Break Miwako.
-Shop Update: in-game items will become purchasable using Dol.
*All items, Gacha Tickets, Friend Points, Dol, and Rare Medals in your inventory can be used until May 31st.
-No further Dream Fest is scheduled beyond this day.
-All scheduled Diva Grand Prix ends.
-No further Diva Grand Prix is scheduled beyond this day.
-The game server will close and Idol Wars will be removed from Nutaku’s games list.

*Rewards for Dragon Providence will be distributed on June 7th.
*Rewards for Kamihime Project will be distributed when the migration campaign ends.
*Players can claim rewards for both Dragon Providence and Kamihime Project if they meet the requirements.
*Rewards will be distributed to the same Nutaku account (same Nutaku ID).
*You will not be able to receive your rewards if you play the above mentioned games on a different account.

In Idol Wars Z, you take on the role of a man who has been chosen as a producer for up and coming idols. It is your job to recruit them, train them, and battle your girls against others to become the best idol group in Japan. The game features a plethora of different cute girls to collect and train, all with their own unique looks and personality.
As is usual with Nutaku’s free-to-play games, you are given a certain amount of Quest Points and Scouting Points to use in various areas of the game. Quest Points are used to go questing, where you can collect idols, items, and find rivals to fight for various things like dollars and quest gacha tickets. Scouting points are used to fight against rivals and against other players for prestige in “LIVE Battles”. You’ll also be able to join production groups, of which you can battle in “Dream Fests” to boost your production rank, as well as obtain other goodies.
Currently, you can play the game without using any quest points up until level 50, allowing you to start building your idol group fairly easily.
For those of you who have played the Nutaku title Dragon Providence, you’ll find a lot of similarities in the gameplay. In addition to doing daily special battles with a guild, questing, leveling up abilities, and fighting rivals, gameplay is set up and played using various “decks” of girls. You can set up different decks for Dream Fests, Scouting, and LIVE Battles. You’ll level up your girls by giving them “Lessons” with either girls/cards or exp. items, limit breaking them with a card of the same girl, and “Awakening” them with special items to boost their card rating, which unlocks a new look for the girl. There are various ability trees for each kind of battle, giving you various boosts as you put points into them.
As with many free-to-play games, there is a gachapon system, of which there are three kinds: Paid, Normal, and Rival. Paid gachapon tickets, which can be bought with Nutaku Gold, give you a better chance at getting rare prizes. Normal gachaphon tickets can be bought with gacha points or earned from quests in-game. Lastly, Rival gachapon tickets are earned exclusively from taking down your rivals.
The game also contains a “Harem” area, where you can go to view sexy scenes with your collected idols. Higher ranked cards feature animated sex scenes, and you can unlock more as you progress and upgrade a girl’s card. The first scene comes with the collection of the card, whereas subsequent scenes are unlocked by maxing a girl’s card level and awakening her. Each scene is also played differently, with the two scenes being played as “fantasy scenes”, with you imagining sexy scenarios with your idols, and the third being an “actual” sex scene where you get intimate with your lady.
Aside from some fairly awkward Engrish sentences and typos, the game has been pretty enjoyable for me so far. Then again, I like card-based games and I like cute girls. Idol Wars Z has plenty of both. Fuka Yaotome is best girl, by the way.
