Identifying Fonts!

Mistu

Today we are going to mention several tools to indentify fonts from a image or webpages. I will try to keep it short and precise this time.
Mostly we stumble upon some screenshots/images and like a font but we cannot indentify. We can use several tools for that. Also keep in mind that finding the exact match is a rare case, if your image quality is very good the chances are higher. Don't expect good results from crappy low resolution images.

Identifying From Screenshots/Images:

1) https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

Arguably the best. Will find only premium matches.

2) https://www.fontsquirrel.com/matcherator

Will also find free alternative, mostly use fontspring engine to find a match. Sometimes struggles identifying characters in a image.

3) https://www.fontspring.com/matcherator

Overall a good one.

4) https://www.whatfontis.com/

Not that good; not that bad. For advanced feature need premium memberships.

For Mobile Devices (Apps) :

1) https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/mobile/

The official app for myfont's WhatTheFont utility. Use it on the run.

2) Find my Font < https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.softonium.findmyfont >

A good one, but offers in app purchases for some feature.

Identifying From a Website (From a Browser):

1) Font Ninja < https://www.fonts.ninja/ >
Font Ninja is more than a font identifier. Available as software also as an extension/add on for almost all broswer to identify fonts on any website.

2) What That Font: Bookmarklet < https://code.iamkate.com/articles/whats-that-font-bookmarklet/ >

Save this what that font bookmarklet and click on any website to identify the font name. This will retrieve the name from CSS values.
