Ichigo and his allies Yasutora "Chad" Sado, Orihime Inoue and Uryu Ishida are great choices for cosplay, and these cosplayers are truly skilled.
The beloved anime Bleach 's hero is none other than Ichigo Kurosaki, who is a classic shonen protagonist with a heart of gold and nerves of steel. He may not be as spunky as Monkey D. Luffy or Naruto Uzumaki , but he has come a long way since he first met Rukia Kuchiki that fateful night, and with his black-bladed Zangetsu in hand, he has beaten the odds again and again.
Ichigo is a substitute Soul Reaper, a black-robed swordsman who can use the power of shikai and bankai to keep his friends safe. He and his allies Yasutora "Chad" Sado, Orihime Inoue and Uryu Ishida are great choices for excellent cosplay, and these Ichigo Kurosaki cosplayers have gone above and beyond.
More than once, Ichigo has found himself pushed to his absolute limit when he fought the forces of evil, and every time that happened, he was forced to look inwards and face his inner weakness... and overcome it. He's needed crash-course training more than once.
Cosplayer kennedy_cosplays stylishly depicts a training-worn Ichigo who has finally unlocked the true depths of what he and Tensa Zangetsu are capable of, and his calm, confident heroic pose proves that he can take on the likes of Grimmjow Jaegerjaques , the terrifying Sternritter and more.
Ichigo isn't the type of hero to go around picking fights, but if anyone threatens his friends, then he will be quick to intervene and take on the challenge himself. By the time Ichigo learned to master his stylish bankai , he was able to protect his dear friends like never before.
Cosplayer Mexxkite depicts the original bankai mode of Ichigo Kurosaki, who is facing the challenger sideways while raising his trademark bankai in a ready pose. If that weren't enough, the cosplayer added a "fluttering in the wind" effect to the tattered ends to his Soul Reaper coat, adding a sense of motion to the shot.
Ichigo Kurosaki really took everyone by surprise when he began to operate as a Soul Reaper, with exceptions like his father Isshin Kurosaki and perhaps Kisuke Urahara. When Ichigo lost to Captain Byakuya Kuchiki, he trained hard to unlock his real zanpakuto, and it looked much cooler than the old one.
Cosplayer summerdru depicts a calm and confident Ichigo who recently unlocked shikai mode, and now Ichigo has that black blade over one shoulder, along with the thick, vivid red holding strap over one shoulder. It all comes together nicely.
There is more to Ichigo Kurosaki than meets the eye. Partway through the Soul Society arc , Ichigo realized that he had something inside him, and he realized to his horror that it was an inner Hollow. He had to train with the Visoreds to take control of this inner monster.
This unnamed cosplayer depicts Ichigo being possessed by his dark side, when he started to manifest his mask while fighting Captain Kuchiki for Rukia's fate. It's an action-packed photo that pays homage to the original anime in remarkable detail.
Ichigo is a warm-hearted hero who will risk his life for his friends and family, but he doesn't always show it on his face. In fact, he's well-known for having a stern scowl, and even the kind-hearted Nelliel Tu Odelschwank saw this side of him.
This time, though, Ichigo is in a good mood, and Kokoro Cosplay gave him a slightly smug but cheery grin while making a relaxed pose with the hands behind the head. Ichigo might like to think that his inner Hollow is a totally separate being, but it really isn't. It is a different side of him, a monstrous aspect to his being that was truly awoken during the rigorous battles in the Soul Society. And he is here to stay.
This unnamed cosplayer brought the menace of Hollow Ichigo to life, from the white and black robes and that stark white bankai to his dark eyes, wicked smile and his deathly white hair, not to mention a pitch-black backdrop. (The rest of the cosplayer's work can be found right here .)
This is the unique outfit that Ichigo wore on the day of Rukia's impending execution, and it was a real visual treat to behold. It's a shame that Ichigo never wore it again, because it features a neck guard, some thin ropes, an asymmetrical outfit and one mean attitude.
Cosplayer Chiera brought it all to life here, from Ichigo's fearsome shikai being rested against his shoulder to his stern expression to his execution day outfit. Once the Soul Reaper Lieutenants saw this sight, they knew they were in for a fight.
Ichigo was never alone as a hero, even though his first name can be read as "One defender." He always has Rukia Kuchiki by his side, and at first, she was his Soul Reaper coach, guiding Ichigo in battle against fearsome Hollows.
In this cosplay shot, Rukia is to the left in her high school uniform and spirit glove, while JhonkumAGM looks ready for a fight, since he's rolling up his left sleeve as if to say "Are you messing with me?" He won't even need his zanpakuto for this fight.
Ichigo gave Byakuya a good scare with his Hollow mask during their fight, but that wasn't even the full extent of Ichigo's inner monster. Much later, when Ichigo journeyed to the land of Hueco Mundo to save Orihime, he crossed blades with Ulquiorra Schiffer for the last time, and lost.
But not for long. His true inner Hollow manifested, and its power was extraordinary. This cosplayer brought that inner beast to life, from the long orange hair to the terrifying mask and the familiar Tensa Zangetsu blade in hand. No mercy this time. Bleach fans have long since realized that author Tite Kubo has a great love for trendy urban fashion and accessories, and many of the bonus art pages in Bleach depict the characters, heroes and villains alike, looking like a Hot Topic magazine ad. And it always looks great.
In this shot, the cosplayer shows Ichigo in his ordinary human clothes, and truth be told, he'd much rather hang out with his friends in Karakura Town than keep fighting monsters for the rest of his life. My husband ordered this for a costume party. The material is nice but the sizing is way off. According to the chart, he should have ordered a large. He decided to order a size up to be on the safe side but it still doesn't fit. There is a piece of velcro in the center to hold the robe closed but it doesn't even come close to touching. If you order this, I would recommend at least 2 sizes larger than you think you need. It's too late to exchange for a larger size so he'll just have to wear it without it closing.
