IVR Engineer – Real-Time Voice Pipeline at BairesDev
In this role, you'll build and operate production-grade conversational voice agents where sub-500ms latency is the baseline, not the goal. Working across the full real-time audio pipeline, you'll solve the hardest problems in voice AI, from barge-in handling to streaming coordination at scale. What You'll Do
* Build and operate production conversational voice agents at scale.
* Optimize the full real-time audio pipeline to maintain sub-500ms latency.
* Implement VAD, turn-taking logic, and barge-in/interruption handling.
* Work across multiple languages and frameworks as the voice stack requires.
* Ensure reliability and performance of streaming coordination across STT, LLM, and TTS components.
What We Are Looking For
* 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
* Hands-on production experience building and operating conversational voice agents using platforms such as Vapi, Retell, ElevenLabs, LiveKit Agents, or Pipecat.
* Deep understanding of the real-time audio pipeline including VAD, turn-taking logic, barge-in/interruption handling, and streaming coordination across STT, LLM, and TTS with sub-500ms latency.
* Polyglot engineer comfortable across multiple languages, including Go and Python.
* Advanced proficiency in English.
