June 1 | Rainbow XM gets activated for Pride Month
As is tradition, Niantic enabled the Rainbow XM for the month of June to celebrate Pride month. This time we also saw the addition of the colors from the Transgender flag!

June 1 | Overclock is released
After being teased at GDC 2023 by Niantic, Overclock was activated at the start of June! Agents can now initiate an AR glyph hack at VPS enabled portals to receive up to 4 times the normal rewards of a glyph hack. Niantic mentions that no new medals or profile stats are planned at the moment.

June 13 | Update 2.118.1 is released
The Ingress team releases Update 2.118.1 in the App Store and Play Store. Among the bug fixes and improvements are an overhauled Adventure Sync settings menu to better explain the options as well as a fix for the Adventure Sync: Nearby feature that showed Portals as Unique even though they had already been captured. The prior speed bonus for Overclock which always was at 100% was also fixed.

June 17 | Phase 3 of the Echo Anomaly
On June 17th, Agents around the world battled one last time over the Echo Anomaly and for the control of Phase 3 and the entire series in three different cities globally. The Enlightened took home the victory and won the Echo series with a final score of 1836:894.
June 20 | Rules for the Ctrl Anomaly series are released
Niantic released the rules for the Q3 Anomaly series in 2023, named Ctrl. The rules are largely the same as the Echo rules with the addition of Ctrl Connected Ops that will be activated during Round 2 and 3 and which give Agents all around the world an opportunity to help out their faction no matter where they are.

June 22 | Wayfarer test now requirement for new Portal nominations
After announcing it a day before the Ingress team enabled the new requirement that all Agents have to pass the Wayfarer Training Module before they are allowed to suggest new Portal nominations.

June 27 | New 2sDay event announced
A new weekly event was introduced, the Ingress 2sDay. Each week on Tuesday from 1800 to 1900 local time, double AP will be activated for all Agents (except Portal Scans). Using an Apex bumps the bonus up to 4x AP, so it is a great way to gain AP quickly!

June 27 | Q3 Event schedule announced
The event schedule for July-September was announced. Among the regular First Saturdays, Second Sundays and the Ctrl Anomaly, Niantic also revealed the Level 8 Week which will run at the start of August with a bunch of boni.

June 29 | Update 2.119.1 is released
The Ingress team releases Update 2.119.1 in the App Store and Play Store. A feature was added to Overclock that enables Agents to redeploy their Tesseract (the glyph cube) if it was misplaced. Machina also received a fresh coat of paint in COMM and now shows its activities in red.

June 30 | Ingress continues to "operate full steam ahead"
Niantic announced a massive "Organizational Update" which saw the closure of NBA All-World and the still in development of Marvel: World of Heroes and the layoff of 230 employees as well as the closure of their Los Angeles offices. The Ingress team confirmed that while most of the team was based out of the Los Angeles office, Ingress will continue on.

June 6 | Patches for World Blood Donor Day
Each June sees the return of the World Blood Donor Day which tries to bring awareness to the importance of regularly donating blood. A group of Agents under the name of #RedFaction is giving out special patches to every Agent that rolls up their sleeve and donates some blood/plasma/platelets! This can be done all year round and doesn't have to be for the World Blood Donor day, so if you haven't gotten your patch yet, consider donating!

June 8 | Ingress X MrChics series collaboration
Ingress teamed up with the talented Agent MrChics in the first Swag collaboration between the company and the players! The first products focuses on designs for the Ctrl Anomaly in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, with more to come in the future!

June 21 | OpenBanners is released to the public
Agent M1chael has released an alpha version of a project that'll improve your bannering experience, OpenBanners. Using this website promises to improve your experience while completing a banner from Bannergress.

June 30 | Thia is collecting stories and pictures of and for Ethan
Best known for being the driver of the NL-1331 van, sadly Ethan was affected by the layoffs at Niantic and will leave his job soon. Thia wants to collect everyone's favorite stories and pictures about and with Ethan to pass on to him. If you have something to share, feel free to contact her via her personal Telegram account.
