Job Description

As the IT Environment Manager within the IT Governance team at Ameriabank, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and process coordination of all non-production environments, including development, integration, testing and staging systems. Your role is central to ensuring these environments are stable, available, cost-efficient and aligned with release and development needs across the organization.

This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, proactive identification of issues, continuous improvement through automation and the enforcement of governance standards. You will also oversee the lifecycle of non-production environments, drive cost optimization, and contribute to post-incident improvements to ensure readiness, reliability and operational excellence.

Job responsibilities

Environment Oversight & Lifecycle Management

• Govern all non-production environments (development, testing, staging) across the bank.
• Define standards and organize processes for environment lifecycle processes — including provisioning, refresh cycles, archiving and decommissioning — to reduce duplication and improve efficiency.
• Ensure environment consistency across applications, services and integration points.

Collaboration & Issue Resolution

• Work with development, QA, DevOps, infrastructure and business teams to identify and resolve environment-related issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to integration, test data, configuration, performance and connectivity.

Process Optimization & Automation

• Lead automation efforts for environment provisioning, access management, monitoring and maintenance.
• Establish and enforce standardized processes and checklists for environment readiness across SDLC stages.

Data & Integration Readiness

• Ensure compliance with test and integration data for pre-production environments.
• Implement and oversee processes for secure data refresh, masking and compliance with data privacy regulations.

Governance, Security & Compliance

• Define and implement policies for environment usage, access control, and data handling.
• Ensure adherence to internal security policies and regulatory standards across all non-prod environments.

Cost Awareness & Optimization

• Monitor resource utilization across environments and recommend improvements for cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and finance teams to track and optimize non-production environment spend, especially in hybrid or cloud environments.

Release Coordination & Readiness

• Coordinate environment readiness for release and deployment activities using Azure DevOps pipelines and schedules.
• Work closely with third-party vendors when external support is required to prepare or troubleshoot environments.

Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor environment health and stability, proactively identifying risks and inefficiencies.
• Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership, including performance trends, blockers and improvement plans.
• Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to the prevention of recurring environment-related issues.
