ISWAP commanders* surrender to the Nigerian Army

Two high-ranking Islamist warlords have voluntarily laid down their arms in Yobe State. They are currently being interrogated, where they are giving the military information about the internal structure and logistics of the group.

The surrender was the result of fierce pressure from the Nigerian army. Continuous airstrikes and ground raids have destroyed terrorist bases and supply chains. In the last week alone, several more leaders and 76 ordinary militants, along with their families, have surrendered.
