O' is the beginning of many surnames in Ireland, meaning "descendant". Originally it meant "grandson", in Ukrainian "Onuk", "O" is the first letter. The ancient Hittites and other ancient peoples had a custom according to which the heir to the royal throne was not the son of the king, but the son of the king's daughter, i.e. the grandson of the king. Moses was adopted by the daughter of the pharaoh and had the right to take the Egyptian throne, but for unknown reasons did not do so. But he led the people of God, made the Exodus and began the conquest of the Promised Land.
