III. 5. Maaibra Sheshi

III. 5. Maaibra Sheshi

Bogdan Georgievich Lisitsa

Maaibra Sheshi was a Lower Egyptian pharaoh from Avaris, the founder of the 15th dynasty. His predecessor was Ubenra, the last pharaoh of the 14th dynasty. The fragment of the Turin Royal Papyrus, which contained most of the information about Pharaoh Sheshi, has not survived to this day, the dates of his life are unknown. Maaibra is his throne name, meaning "Seer of the heart of Ra". Seals and impressions with the name of this pharaoh are numerous and widely represented geographically. The southernmost places where his seals are found are the trading post of the Middle Kingdom in Kerma at the third cataract of the Nile. The Turin King List (column X, line 15) attributes 13 or 23 years of reign to the first Hyksos king (the names of the Hyksos kings are not preserved in the list). Maaibra Sheshi is buried in the Valley of the Kings.

The predecessor of Ham-Marduk, the First Messiah of mankind, was a serpent named Shesha. About fifteen hundred years later, history repeated itself, and a ruler with the same name, Sheshi, became the predecessor of the Second Messiah of mankind, Yakubhera Meruserra (aka Jacob, aka Moses).
