Bogdan Georgievich Lisitsa

Musaeus of Athens (Greek: Μουσαῖος, Mousaios) is a legendary prophet, poet, priest, musician, philosopher, historian and encyclopedist. The founder of priestly poetry in Attica, he invented the hexameter, composed dedication and purification hymns, prose treatises and prophetic answers. Orpheus addressed Musaeus in his hymn. According to Onomacritus, Musaeus could fly, having received a gift from Boreas. Musaeus is the author of the poem "Eumolpia", the poem "Titanomachia", the poem about Triptolemus. Diogenes Laërtius claims that Musaeus "was the first, according to legend, to teach about the origin of the gods and the first to build a sphere; he taught that everything in the world is born from the One and is resolved in the One."

Artapan of Alexandria wrote a historical work in Greek called "On the Jews." This work has not survived, but fragments have been preserved in the works of ancient writers. Artapan of Alexandria claimed that Moses "beneficed mankind" by inventing philosophy. ). He also claimed that the Greeks called Moses Musaeus, the teacher of Orpheus, the father of Greek culture. The identification of Moses with Musaeus confirms the close ties between Ancient Egypt, Ancient Palestine, and Ancient Greece.
