III. 31. Angra Mainyu
Bogdan Georgievich LisitsaAngra Mainyu is an evil spirit, the personification of evil in Zoroastrianism; the god of darkness and the personification of everything bad, the original source of evil, the enemy of Ahura Mazda. Angra Mainyu is Aaron. Angra is a variation of the name Aaron / Aharon.
Angra = Harun / Aaron
In ancient Persian cuneiform texts, he bears the epithet duwaista, that is, "hateful". Angra Mainyu does not have independent creative power, like his enemy Ahura Mazda, but he can sow the seed of evil. Angra Mainyu is the source of harmful forces of nature, diseases, crop failure, the creator of poisonous plants, predatory animals. He is the cause of all physical and moral disasters. All evil spirits are submissive to him, he is the lord of death and darkness. He is the eternal enemy of Ahura Mazda and his blissful kingdom of light.
The Avesta describes Ahura Mazda as creating 16 countries of good, Angra Mainyu as creating 16 countries of evil. In contrast to the pure "Ahurian" animals, Angra Mainyu creates snakes, dragons and other evil spirits. The followers of the ancient cult of snakes first penetrated the religion of the ancients, when the chosen people were the Armenians and gypsies. When Moses-Ahura Mazda created a new religion, the enemies penetrated here too and brought the cult of snakes / dragons.
The struggle between good and evil ends with the defeat of Angra Mainyu, the purification of the world in molten metal from filth and the onset of an era of eternal bliss. Man helps Ahura Mazda in the fight against Angra Mainyu.
Ahura Mazda sent his prophet Zarathustra. Angra Mainyu tries to tempt or kill him, but to no avail.
