III. 20. God Thoth

Bogdan Georgievich Lisitsa

Thoth (Teut, Tut, Tuut, Tout, Tehuti, Djehuti) is the ancient Egyptian god of wisdom and knowledge, patron of libraries, scientists, officials, state and world order. Thoth is the personification of the tsekh (guild), the head of the tsekh. The word Thoth / Tehuti / Djehuti is close to the Armenian word "TS'egh" (tsekh):

Tehuti / Djehuti = TS'egh

Azg, tokhm and TS'egh are words denoting a guild / workshop in the Armenian language.

Hermes is the god of eloquence, cunning, theft, trade, youth and good fortune, as well as the patron of heralds, ambassadors, shepherds, travelers in the minds of the ancient Greeks. The Greek Hermes corresponds to the Egyptian Thoth. The name Hermes / Germ is also close to the Armenian word for "guild":

Germ = Tokhm

Thoth was depicted as a man with the head of an ibis.

Thoth is a fusion of the images of Thoth-Enlil and Bezalel / Bezalel. In other words, Bezalel is the new Thoth.

Bezalel / Bezalel is the head of the workshop, a carver of metal, stone and wood, as well as a master in sculpting various figures and in finishing and setting precious stones. Bezalel was close to Aaron, the opponent of Moses. The name "Bezalel" means ibis-stork. This name contains a play on words, two names for one bird.

Bezalel = Betsa + lel

Betsa = ibis

Lel = leleka (stork in Ukrainian).

The ibis was the sacred animal of Thoth.
