III. 1. The World on the Eve of the Era of Moses

The era of Ham-Marduk lasted for about one and a half thousand years. At the end of this era, the life of ordinary people became hard. Natural disasters, wars, diseases and an economic crisis began. The economy was nationalized. Agriculture, cattle breeding, crafts and trade - everything was strictly centralized. Most of the land belonged to the king. The state apparatus grew to enormous proportions, the number of officials greatly exceeded the number of working people. Officials were engaged in universal accounting. Huge libraries were created, where a huge number of cuneiform tablets were stored. The main part of the clay tablets of the III Dynasty of Ur are economic reports. Men worked from morning until evening without days off, women - the same, except for the period of menstruation. The ranks of workers were replenished by prisoners. Before being assigned to a specific brigade, they were kept in special camps, similar to concentration camps. There was a high mortality rate, especially women and children. In fact, society was slowly dying. Abraham saw, felt and understood the suffering of people.
