Bogdan Georgievich LisitsaLiber is an ancient god of fertility and fertilizing power, later viticulture in the beliefs of the indigenous tribes of Sicily and possibly Italy. The word "liberty" - to liberate - comes from the name Liber.
Liber is a variation of the name Marduk.
Liber ≈ berLi ≈ merHi ≈ merKi = Marduk
berLi = berlo / берло
Berlo is a stick decorated with precious stones and carvings; a symbol, a sign of power in the Ukrainian language.
The name Marduk also means "Phallus of Ham".
Phallus is the original stick. Initially, Liber personified the productivity of nature, joy and abundance, which later brought him closer to Dionysus. The attribute, symbol of his power was the fascinum (phallus), which was carried around the country in a solemn and cheerful procession during the grape harvest.

In connection with the fascinum were versus fescennini - sexual songs of a cheerful nature, which enlivened the grape harvest.
Fascinum is in a sense the unification of all the phalluses of the world or all the forces of the world to achieve a great result.
Later, Liber was identified with Bacchus-Dionysus.
