Orion is a famous hunter and giant in ancient Greek mythology. Nimrod is described in similar words:

8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord : wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

Orion and Nimrod, also known as Ham, also known as Marduk, are one and the same person. Byzantine church writers cite the opinion of the Persians that the constellation Orion is the giant Nimrod chained to the sky. In ancient Babylon, the constellation Orion was called the "Heavenly Shepherd" or "Faithful Shepherd of Anu", denoting the god Pap-sukkal. The name Pap-sukkal is a variation of the name Bacchus / Bar-Kush / Son of Kush.
