II. 30. Varuna

II. 30. Varuna

Bogdan Georgievich Lisitsa

Varuna is the god-lord of the world's waters, the supreme judge and guardian of justice. Varuna is the deified ancestor of Ham, corresponding to the Egyptian god Geb and the Greek Uranus.

The name Varuna / váruṇaḥ means "arkan" (lasso) or "[Ham / Geb with] a arkan":

váruṇaḥ ≈ váruaḥṇ ≈ uáruaḥṇ ≈ Arkan

Varuna's iconography confirms this: he is depicted holding a arkan made of a snake.

Rongvil choum - Noose in Khmer, literally "Ham's noose". Choum is a variation of the name Ham.

Gima oluorore - noose in luo. Composed of the words "essence" and "scared". Gima is Geb / Ham, the ancestor, over time this name acquired the meaning of essence. The original meaning of the word noose in the Luo language is Ham, who scares enemies with a arkan.

Erken habi; (Эркен гьаби;) - liberation in the Avar language, literally "Geb's arkan" or "Ham's arkan". The lasso was Ham's weapon during the war of people against the reptiles.

Kabardins are an indigenous Caucasian people in Russia. The root of the word "Kabardin" means "Geb's lasso".

Kabardin = Kab + Ardin

Kab = Geb

Ardin = Arkan

Kabardins are an ancient people whose ancestors were part of Ham-Varuna's army in the war against the reptiles.

Sombângan - a noose in Madurese, literally means "Ham builds".

Som is a variation of the name Ham, also known as Shem.

Bângan – to build in Madurese.

This means that after the global cataclysm, the flood and the war of people against the reptiles, Ham built a new kind of society with the help of the lasso, i.e. coercion.

Also, the arkan / loop is associated with Uranus, which confirms that Varuna and Uranus are the same person.

Lingkaran – loop in Makassar, Indonesian

Lingkaran = Lingk + aran

Lingk is a variation of the word "linga" (penis), which is associated with Min, another hypostasis of Geb.

Aran is the arkan, Ham's weapon in the war against the reptiles.

Similarly: Lingkeran – loop in Betawi, Ilingkari – loop in Karo, Lingus – loop in Kalampangan

Kyabulijo – loop in Luganda.

Kyabu = Kyabu + lijo

Kyabu = Geb / Ham

Lijo = linga / phallus

turotalinga – loop in Warai

linga = phallus

Turota – close to “tumurok” – loop in Warai

Ham is associated with the serpent, the name Ham Nag means Ham son of the Serpent. Varuna is also associated with the serpent. It is his arkan of the snake and his mount is Makara, which means “sea dragon” in Sanskrit.

Varuna riding the Makara serpent, 1675–1700, watercolor. Bundi, India.

As the ruler of the world's waters, he is the one who survived the global cataclysm and the Flood.

Varuna is the eldest of the Aditya brothers. Ham was able to raise a rebellion against the reptiles because he was a natural leader, the eldest son.

Only Indra and Varuna are called "almighty", because after the global cataclysm, the Flood and the fall of the reptile state, he created the state of people.

Varuna (together with Mithra) supports the earth and the sky. A similar motif is in Egyptian mythology, where Shu separated the spouses Nut and Geb, lifting Nut up (the sky), and leaving Geb in a horizontal position (the earth).

J. Dumézil put forward a hypothesis that Varuna is etymologically identical to the Greek god Uranus. The scientific community rejected this hypothesis. In fact, J. Dumézil's hypothesis turned out to be correct.
