II. 16. Constellation Hercules
Bogdan Georgievich LisitsaHercules is a constellation of the northern hemisphere of the sky, a symbol of the liberation of mankind from slavery. In ancient times, the constellation was not personified and was called "The Kneeling". This means that at that time all of humanity was in decline, in a state of slavery, all of humanity was brought to its knees. The ancient Greek didactic poet Aratus of Sol wrote about this constellation in his poem "Phenomena":
"The image of a man near them, exhausted by severe suffering. The name is unknown to us, nor the cause of sorrowful suffering."
This constellation creates the asterism "Butterfly", this is an ancient symbol of the resurrection from the dead, victory over death. Arnold Toynbee described the ancient cult in the following words:
"To the extent that it has been possible to decipher the materials associated with the ancient Cretan cult, we can draw conclusions not only about its richness in spiritual content, but also about the fact that it was obviously about a faith that has inspired the followers of a number of Eastern religions, such as Iranian, Christian, and Islamic, over the last two millennia. We mean dogmas that are very far from the Hellenic view of the world... If we compare the mentioned faith in the most general terms with the religion of the ancient Greeks, then we should first of all say that it has more spirituality. On the other hand, it is closer to the personal feeling of man. On the "ring of Nestor", where the symbols of resurrection in the form of a chrysalis and a butterfly are indicated above the head of the goddess, she (the goddess) clearly has the power to grant her faithful life after death. She is very close to them… She protected her children even beyond, in the grave… The Greek religion has its mysteries, but the Greek gods of both sexes, more or less equal to each other, were never in close relationships either with each other or with their worshipers, contrary to the evidence we have about the Minoan cult. The disorder among the Olympians, resulting in both family and clan squabbles, was no less striking than the multiplicity of their forms and attributes. In the Minoan world, the same supreme goddess appears again and again, apparently… The obvious conclusion is that we have before us a largely monotheistic cult, where supreme power belonged to the female form of the deity."
This constellation also creates the asterism "Cornerstone". The name goes back to the words of Jesus Christ, who quoted a verse from the Psalter, "The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner" (Psalm 118:22). Jesus Christ speaks of Himself as a stone rejected by the builders, which was then placed at the head of the corner. A similar situation developed several thousand years earlier, when the reptiles rejected Ham-Marduk, who was the son of the king of snakes. After a global cataclysm, the Flood and an ancient nuclear war, he organized the destruction of the remains of the reptiles and became the founder of human civilization.
