II. 15. Prometheus

Prometheus is one of the Titans in ancient Greek mythology, the protector of people from the tyranny of the gods. The name Prometheus means "[son of] Mother Pyrrha".

Prometheus is the king of the Scythians. This means that Prometheus and Seth are one and the same person.

According to Hesiod, Prometheus molded people from the earth, and Athena gave them breath. According to Propertius, he molded people from clay, mixing earth with water. Prometheus created them looking at the sky like the gods. The creation of people from clay has a parallel in Adam / Ham, whose name means the earth from which he was created.

Prometheus stole fire from the gods, took it from Olympus and gave it to people so that they would not be defenseless.

For stealing fire, the gods chained Prometheus to a rock in the Caucasus Mountains. Chained Prometheus was doomed to endless torment. Every day an eagle would come and peck out his liver, which would grow back overnight, immortal as he was. This means that the ancients knew about the liver's ability to regenerate. It also means that the human body has hidden powers of resurrection.

In his play "Prometheus," Aeschylus claims that all human arts come from Prometheus. The Bible confirms this:

19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.

20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.

21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.

22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.
