II. 13. Sisyphus
Bogdan Georgievich LisitsaSisyphus is a hero of ancient Greek mythology, who after his death was sentenced by the gods to roll a heavy stone up a mountain in Tartarus, which, having barely reached the top, rolled down again and again. Sisyphus is the personification of the Scythians, the first people who worked in a giant quarry mining gold and diamonds for reptiles. The name Sisyphus is close to the name "Syphus / Seth" and the name Scythians:
Sisyphus = Seth / Seth = Scythians
In myths, Sisyphus is called the builder and king of Corinth. This means that Corinth was built by human slaves, and a certain king-snake lived in it.
The expression "Sisyphus' labor" means hard, endless, fruitless work and torment.
Sisyphus was guilty of divulging the secrets of the gods, and in this he is close to Tantalus, who was accused of the same. They are one and the same hero, he is also Ham Nag, Marduk and Prometheus.
Sisyphus married the Pleiadian Merope, daughter of Atlas. The Pleiades are a constellation hostile to the reptiles. Perhaps the people from the Pleiades caused a global cataclysm and the Flood, which led to the overthrow of the power of the reptiles over people.
A version of the myth is widespread in which Sisyphus deceives the god of death Thanatos and holds him captive. According to another version, he deceived and chained Hades himself. In the absence of Thanatos, people stopped dying. The gods are concerned about the current situation, and after several years, Ares, the god of war, freed the god of death. Thanatos tore out the soul of Sisyphus and took it to the kingdom of the shadows of the dead. But Sisyphus managed to deceive the gods. He forbade his wife to perform funeral rites after his death. Hades and Persephone, not having waited for the funeral sacrifices, allowed Sisyphus to return to earth for a short time - to punish his wife for violating sacred customs and order her to arrange a proper funeral and sacrifices. Sisyphus did not return to the kingdom of Hades. He remained in the magnificent palace to feast and rejoice in the fact that he was the only one of all mortals who managed to return from the dark kingdom of shadows. Further in the myth - a late insertion about the return of Sisyphus to the kingdom of shadows.
