Pearson Edexcel International AS & A Level (IAS/IAL) is currently available in 21 subjects. This allows students to spread their workload and avoid the “burnout” often seen in other systems. In contrast, the IAL allows for the retaking of individual units. A significant number of global students switch to the Edexcel International A Level after completing their Cambridge IGCSEs.

If a student underperforms in a Cambridge AS component, the board requires them to retake the entire AS level. After the ‘cash in’ process, a candidate will have a complete Edexcel International AS & A Level qualification. I've always found it useful to change the format of the content that I'm studying.
