I would like to share. I think it's important!
https://t.me/trisuttoTalking to my friend after the race in Kazan, we were discussing how I lost 1st place. I was fidgeting in my chair and explained that I wasn't competing with anyone, I was just doing what I love to do, with enthusiasm and great joy. I am not upset or hurt when I am overtaken by stronger athletes. I always act very carefully at the race, according to my feelings and the coach's assignment, because I know the price of "struggle" and objectively only my own thoughts and abilities here and now is recognized as my real rivals. To this my friend replied, laughing: "so you don't even realize that the girl who overtook you is young enough to be your daughter? And this is not a turn of phrase, but simple arithmetic." I was stunned because I hadn't looked at it in this light.

What I mean is. I am 43 years old. I realize my strength and I am not aware of my age, I know my limitations, as for example a person with allergies knows them, but he lives and considers his life quite full, although in the process of life activity he has to carry out necessary measures for everything to be well. Having said all that, I have no desire or inner feeling of the need to "retire", to say that "I am getting old", to be looking for "a quieter life with a house and a garden". No, I am not going to be drawn to the land there.
I believe that the period of history when people in their 40+ years went from being active to pre-retirement is over. The social age of getting old has changed. We have every opportunity to stay younger and viable longer, but in order to do so, we have to start investing in ourselves and realize that we need this investment, this exercise as much, or even more, than we need to invest in our houses or our brains. It is our most basic need, it is a vital necessity, like water and air. We can't use our hard earned money for joy and life if we spend it unsuccessfully on the multi-million dollar pharma industry. The choice is up to everyone! Either move now, or sit around and get weak hoping to "start on Monday". Reduced mobility ages the body and brain and therefore brings our death closer, and it is not a fact that we will be so lucky to die quickly and painlessly, most likely it will be slow and painful for us and our loved ones equally.
I know that any type of movement is a good thing. Whether you run, do yoga or karate, you are doing good. In my wide experience, triathlon is one of the most fun and safe sports in terms of "types" of stress on the joints and cardiovascular system. It allows you to reduce the impact load and increase the aerobic capacity of your body, sprout new capillaries, improve the overall function of all organs and systems, and support brain function.
No matter how old you are now - it's never too late to start loving yourself and taking care of yourself, realizing the importance and necessity of this care.
Come, I will help, I know how. Triathlon for everyone.
