Deep and interesting questions that are especially important to the fate of our country right now. Certainly the way women address their reproduction and their reproductive health is, without a doubt, terribly important. And certainly not a true health issue. It's really a political and religious issue of vital importance in this election.
Of course, I wonder if there are shadings to my whorishness . I have two issues that I think might affect my standing:
I have used birth control at times in my life so I suppose I can join you in the title of whore
The whole thing seems crazy, unreal and ridiculous that we are actually talking about it as an issue. I did not realize that birth control was so controversial. I also find it funny how strongly some male politicans are against it.
The issue wasnt access to birth control,it is forcing others to pay for yours,and demanding that religious institutions forgo their own moral beliefs by making them provide it for free also. this Fluke woman has spent her career as an activist for free birth control.and went so far as to join this particular college specifically because it was their religious beliefs.Then spent the three years she was their trying to force the college to change their policies.Soooo maybe “whore” is a good description for her.
What really enraged many women about this whole thing was the idea that USING birth control makes someone a whore. As well as the hypocrisy involved. No one questions that erectile dysfunction drugs should be covered — even if they are used for “immoral” purposes that might go against some church teachings about sex outside of marriage.
Another reason that many women are upset is that, for some reason, ED is an accepted “health” or “medical” issue, while, for some unfathomable reason, a woman’s reproduction is a religious and political issue, and we have to have hearings about whether or not birth control represents something involving women’s health.
Personally, I think it’s overstepping to try and force religious institutions/hospitals to cover birth control. However, after Obama backed off and compromised on it, many decided to double down and question whether or not birth control can even be considered a health issue. And that’s when people really started getting riled up — especially since birth control methods have uses beyond just family planning.
The fact that we just accept that men need boners, and to have sex, in order to be healthy, and that no one even questions ED drug inclusion in health care plans, but we have to have a big debate over whether or not birth control is even a “health” issue, is what angers me the most.

I love how even after the compromise that Obama made people were still mad. Plus why are people saying others are paying for birth control. It has been repeated time and time again when the news has covered it that the tax payers have to pay for women’s birth control. That is not at all true. The mandate requires insurance to either cover the birth control or at least provide it as an option. It is shocking how many insurance plans do not cover birth control at all. It should at least be an option for women.
