Let’s get one thing straight: You can’t really tell how large a man’s penis is unless you’re fully down there and assessing the situation yourself. (The exception being your dude isn’t wearing undies beneath his gray sweatpants.) But seriously, even dick pics with that good -good lighting can be a bit misleading, ladies.
Thanks to TikTok though, aka what I’d consider the best app known to mankind— pls don’t take it away, @government! —users are posting videos about whether or not men have big dicks based on...well, things not at all related to the size they were physically blessed with.
Yup, these content creators are making vids that equate basic things men do (like, say, how they drive or how they watch Netflix) to whether they have a massive dong chillin’ between their legs. Some random examples include:
Similar to the whole concept of the whole Big Dick Energy thing, it’s less about actually having a hammer-sized penis and more about the air of confidence that exudes when having a hammer-size penis. See what I mean?
On TikTok, the sound on these videos, which goes “Oh, his dick is big” over a Doja Cat song, has been used well over 33,000 times . Even some of the individual TikToks are averaging, like, 500,000 views—and you know it’s super relatable content if it’s racking up those kinds of numbers.
Fortunately for you all, since this trend is literally giving me life, I’ve kindly taken it upon myself to curate an article of the best ones for your viewing pleasure. (Also because we must know men’s penises sizes for our own sleuthing purposes.) Below, 15 signs his dick is big, according to the very reliable source of TikTok:
And that’s on healthy relationships 😗😗😗 #couplegoals #추천 #fyp

While most dudes may want their dicks to be considered ‘big,’ there’s no objective measure. So why does the obsession continue?
In any context, “big” is a messy thing to quantify. That messiness, however, is never more baffling than it is when we talk about bodies. Here, big can mean many things — in a bodily context, bigness can produce stigma and shame from both its presence and lack thereof. Add sex to the equation, and assessing what “big” actually means seems absurd. But in the case of “big dicks,” the world continues to try.
There are literally billions of Google results pertaining to penis size , and searches for “what is considered a big penis” or “average penis size” have remained relatively steady for the last 15 years. Of course, there is some statistical data to help answer these questions, though the data itself might only complicate things further. Most studies point to a worldwide average of around 5.1 inches in length when erect. “Big” may therefore mean anything above this margin, or might require a number significantly higher. It’s even possible that the average-sized penis is “big.” While we can quantify what is average, we don’t have the precise language to determine what big means.
As such, the abundance of searches for answers is almost more revealing than the potential answers themselves. The searches point to an anxiety and need for assurance that the internet writ large seems unlikely to provide.
For her, big doesn’t always mean better, either. “The focus on bigness is bizarre because most women probably agree a big dick can be uncomfortable during sex, especially when it’s slamming against my cervix.”
A married man who reached out to me explained his definition in similar terms. “I’ve had big dick problems with my wife,” he explains, comparing sex to a “6-inch diameter PVC pipe in a 4-inch hole.” Thus, “big dick” doesn’t even have a positive connotation. “Painful intercourse for the woman is how I define a BD,” he says.
This also points to the issue of girth , another variable subjected to our incomplete vocabulary. Many of those I spoke to on the subject didn’t explain their vision of bigness in numbers, but instead by describing other objects. “Girth over length always appears big, in my opinion. Like soda can dicks,” a different young woman tells me. One man said 7 inches in length made a dick “big,” but that the girth needed to be at least that of a cardboard toilet paper roll. And as writer and adult actor Ty Mitchell so aptly puts it, “The only true definition of ‘big dick’ is ‘bigger than mine.’”
Despite the discrepancies in personal definitions, one broad theme in determining “big dick” seems to be that dick size doesn’t matter at all — until it does . This can apply to both ends of the spectrum of size. In a 1996 study of penis size, researchers ultimately concluded that only those with an erect penis of less than 3 inches in length ought to be considered candidates for enlargement . For the most part, a penis of below statistical average length is still perfectly acceptable. Conversely, as many have mentioned, a dick that’s above the statistical average has the potential to be painful. For some, an otherwise “average” sized penis can be painful, as well.
The problem of “big dick” is one that has pervaded our cultural conversations around sex without being properly quantifiable. It’s a vague synthesis of definitions emerging from porn, pop culture and personal experience, none necessarily objectively true. Presumably, most men want to think their penis fits the bill of being big. But if everyone’s dick is big, is anyone’s?

If movies and TV shows and popular knowledge were to be believed, a big penis is always better than a small penis and having a big dick somehow makes men more “manly” than those who are packing a smaller package and that, my friends, is all nonsense. The size of a someone's penis does not determine whether or not they're a good lover — all it does is determine what size condom they should pick up at the pharmacy. However, some people do have penis size preferences, with plenty of people preferring larger penises and others who really only want to get down with someone who has a smaller penis .
And here’s a fun fact you might not know! Vaginas, just like penises, are different sizes. So a person might have a particularly short vagina, in which case having sex with someone who has a really big penis is going to be a major no . On the other hand, some people have really long vaginas or wider openings to their vaginas, which means that they’re going to prefer big penises. There’s so much more that goes into penis size preferences than “big is better than small!”
Regardless, it’s not like penis size is something you know before everyone gets naked, anyway. (Sorry folks — that middle school thing about shoe size is a total myth.) So if you find yourself with a partner who’s bigger than average or even just bigger than you’ve experienced before, here are eight things to keep in mind when having sex.
But for real though . If you have a vagina, you need to make sure that you’re thoroughly wet and thoroughly aroused before any penetration happens. That’s because…
If you’re not sufficiently turned on , your vagina might be too tight for him to fit. That means he’s going to walk away with, basically, a bruised penis. If you want to have sex more than once a week, make sure you’ve been making out and doing other stuff for at least 15 minutes before his penis goes in.
And the flip side is, if you’re not turned on enough, you might get hurt during intercourse too. Either by tearing your vaginal opening or…
The worst sex injury ever ! Because vaginas get longer when you’re more aroused, if you’re not turned on enough, a big penis might bump right up against your cervix. Trust me: a bruised cervix is not a pain you want to ever experience.
Those deep penetration positions that he loves may not be a great idea, as the harder and further he pushes, the more likely he is to cause some damage. So if you really love doing it from behind, for example, he may have to hold back and not go all the way in. On the other hand, girl on top is a great position because you can control the amount of penetration more easily that way.
Just like your cervix moves based on how aroused you are, it also changes at different points of your cycle. (But not if you’re on the Pill, because then you don’t ovulate.) When you’re ovulating, your cervix is as high up as it will go and also has a kind of mushy consistency. That’s the best time for deep penetration.
If your big-bonered partner has trouble keeping it up, it’s not because he doesn’t think you’re sexy. Big penises need to fill with more blood than smaller penises, which means that guys who are exceptionally long may have a hard time keeping their hard-ons as rock hard as guys with smaller penises.
And if you take all of the proper precautions? Having sex with someone with a big penis can be really fun .
