So, fun story. Ever since I was a little kid, I loved the M14. But when I turned 18, I was a broke college kid and couldn't afford one, so I bought an SKS instead. Graduating college I had a nice wad of cash, and was looking at M1As, but everyone said "buy an AR10, they're better!" So I did. And it was a great rifle, sure, but it didn't make me happy, so I never shot the thing.
4 years later, my fiance wanted to spoil me for my birthday, and told me to pick out a rifle. I didn't like Springfield's politics, and a forged receiver sounds great, so she bought me this Bula M14 with a National Match barrel.
Well, everyone kept saying how the FAL was the superior rifle, so I finally grabbed one for this last birthday. Adjustable gas is cool. Pistol grips are comfy. Built in bipods are nifty. But the FAL is headed back to the factory because with the adjustments maxed out she's still shooting 18" low at 100yds, while the M14 was dead-on-balls-accurate out of the box, with tighter groups and better sights.
Nice M14, i really love these old rifles, I just wish they made new garands like this.
Another thing, I heard of bula but don't know the cost or quality of their rifles, could you me tell how it is fit and finish wise along with price.

You know Ive heard alot of crap about these, is it all bs, Id like an m14 and passed on one for 399 awhile back because I didnt know.
When I bend air my wife grabs the lysol....

I hate callin names but I love stating the obvious, idiots beware

The only thing that is true is that some had soft bolts. SEI can fit a USGI bolt without replacing the barrel.

There was a bunch of bs about the receivers. They are better than the current cast pieces, and it seems a lot of the builders use them as a base. They get a bad rep just like Chinese AK's and SKS's. As long as people think they are junk they will sell for less then the SA builds. Shhhhh

Range day

After getting the sights zeroed I ran eight five round strings of the FN surplus Century is currently selling. The largest group was a little over 2", and the smallest was a just under 1.5". These were shot off a bag @ 100 yards.

Yeah, the Chinese made M14 clones are junk, and can't shoot for crap. lol
I have read that so many times on the intarwebz, but it seems the people posting it don't own, and have never shot one. Go figure.

Anywho, I can't wait to see how it shoots after some work. Odds are it will be the same... I blame the nut behind the trigger.

My shoulder still hurts from shooting M-14 in "65"and most uncomfortable gun I ever shot.You can have them all.
