In the wake of humanity's extinction, a teenage girl is raised by a robot designed to repopulate the earth. But their unique bond is threatened when an inexplicable stranger arrives with alarming news.
This screenplay by Michael Lloyd Green featured on the 2016 Black List, which is an annual listing of film industry-valued unproduced movie scripts.
SPOILER: At the beginning of the movie it lists Days since the extinction event as 001, and this is when Mother selects a fetus to raise. Later it shows Days since extinction event to be 13,867 (about 38 years).
Daughter is clearly only a teenager throughout the film. This was deliberate, as we later find out that Daughter is not the first child born here.
