Bogdan Georgievich LisitsaKukuy is an ancient Slavic pagan holiday of the summer solstice and the highest flowering of nature. On the night before Kukuy, the divine fern flower blossomed. This flower can indicate the location of hidden treasures.
Kukuy is a variation of the word "head". The first Kukuy is the king of the intelligent reptiles who founded Kyiv.
Other names for the holiday are Yarilo's Day, Ivan Travnik, Ivan Kupala. This means that later religious figures began to associate this holiday with the cult of Yarilo and Christianity.
