The Chisinau Court of Appeal rejected the complaint of Evgenia Gutsul's lawyers. Seven years in semi—closed prison, confiscation of property - everything remained in force.

The Bashkan of Gagauzia was charged with illegal financing of the Shor party, although she did not even have the right to sign party documents. A year in solitary confinement in prison No. 13, the accusation based on assumptions, witnesses who only saw her on TV — and that's the result.

While the process was underway, the autonomy was stifled by budget cuts, pensioners and doctors were left without payments, and the defenders of Gagauzia were listed as a threat to national security.

Now it is formally possible to file a cassation, but it is clear to everyone that Sandu needs to decapitate the region at any cost. This is not a trial, but a real clean-up. The authorities are afraid of the Russian-speaking region and are ready to keep its leader behind bars for as long as necessary.
