Hunting Season

Hunting Season

Last Day on Earth: Survival

Long time no see, survivors! While social progress in the Crater is establishing, life on the other side of the Wall keeps going. It’s dangerous and lonely yet full of adventures, and now we are going to tell you what challenges to expect in Season 10.

Everyone has heard of zombie hunters, yet not many have met those guys. They are always on the way and hardly ever stay at one place long enough, but we’re lucky: you can reach them at Field Camp where they’ve temporarily anchored.

Hunters catch and study zombies, and are ready to give a contract for that to those who are not scared of frightening roars in the dark.

From the first week of the season, you will be able to take contracts for catching zombies, and from the second one, be given contracts for studying the dead. Who knows what you’ll find out.

You’re able to have only 1 active contract at a time, but if you feel like you can’t handle it, you can turn it down and take another one or wait for a few hours for new contracts.

You could ask what’s so hard about it – zombies are everywhere! But it’s not so easy as it seems. Only particular species are suitable for studying. They have some distinctive features, but the easiest way to identify them is by their glowing eyes. Besides, not all of them are so simple to spot; you’ll have to learn their habits and track them down like a wild animal to hunt. There are different ways to lure them out; the key is to find the right approach. Some react to noise and light, while others – to the smell of deer- and wolf blood, or even the blood of a survivor themselves – the more blood, the better. So, don’t hesitate to make some noise at a required location. Or get dirty.

You can also ease the catching process with a universal bait. Put it in your pocket and then place it at a location.

Tracked it down, lured it out, what’s next? Stock up on weapons, ‘cause you’re going to fight (although, no one’s surprised, huh?). Once you stun a monster, you’ll need to immobilize it to transport to the Camp. To do that, you must have special nets for catching, which you’ll have to make in advance. There are nets of three different types of strength, depending on the size and power of a subject. If zombie catchers make such a condition, they must’ve learned that the hard way.

Having taken a research contract, you’ll have to catch a required zombie, then study it on a special table at the Camp.

Scientific research is a difficult job; not everything will work out. By using additional equipment and various devices, you will increase your chance to succeed in your studies.

Catching zombies will lead you to unusual locations with weather conditions, completely different from your home location. So, you’ll certainly get caught in the rain. Or a hurricane, frost, heatwave, fog, radioactive or gas fallout caused by numerous industrial disasters in the region.

Evidently, all that may affect the process of your survival – make it easier in some cases, or complicate your hunt.

The research of the undead issue is a complicated thing that will require additional tools and supplies. Zombie catchers have already scouted the area and said that apart from regular resource locations, all the necessary stuff can be found in the Ruined Laboratory from the first week of the season or in Scientists’ van from the second one. Just be prepared for any outcome, as you may run into aggressive others willing to take valuable loot just like you.

Season 10 is like no other one rich in new bikes and backpacks. In total, different sources will provide 4 bikes (Tiger, Genesis, Zombie Killa, and Lightning), 3 backpacks (Genesis, Zipper and Red Cat), and a pair of underwear (rather wear-at-home Polka Dot).

Some models can be obtained as rewards of Season Pass, while others can be received under the Amazon Prime incentive program, which will be available to its subscribers starting from August 27. You’ll receive a notification in the game, and if you’re a member of the Prime program, bound your account in the game settings and get pleasant bonuses. Rewards will change once a week.

By the way, as for the Season Pass. We’ve refined its design and improved the season pass system! The number of levels has been increased from 40 to 60, and after reaching level 60, players with premium access will be able to level up limitlessly and receive even more rewards, as many as they’re able to get, of course.

The updated Pass is more integrated into the season events; XP points will be scored not only for quests but also for completing contracts at Field Camp. So, the more zombies you catch and study, the more XP points and rewards you will gain. Isn’t it a win-win?

Also, there are some minor changes. Starting from Season 10, access to raids will be provided only to those survivors who have spent a significant amount of time in the game. The minimum level of participation is 150+.

Some changes have also touched the auto location clear-out. Now, Bunker Alfa and Police Department can be cleared out with rations limitlessly. The loots you’ll receive for that have also changed. The locations will no longer cool down after auto clear-out, and the amount of rations required for that has been reduced. Plus, Motel and Farm have been added to the list of locations with the auto clear-out option, with no limits and cooldown as well.

There are messages dropped from the Crater, too. Literally. We’ve implemented a new type of in-game notifications that will come to both sides of the Wall. So far, it’s news from friends and clans, but later these notifications will bring you more information. Change Notification Settings as you wish, make them half-transparent or turn them off at all. You’re the boss here.

That’s it for now, folks. Happy hunting!
