Nazi racial ideology labeled those not considered ethnic Germans as racially inferior. According to this racial hierarchy, people of Slavic origin—such as Poles , Russians, and Serbs—were marked for enslavement, deportation, and murder. Their lands were to be repopulated with so-called " Aryan " Germans. Between 1939 and 1945, approximately 1.5 million ethnic Poles from German-occupied Poland—mostly teenage boys and girls—were deported to Germany for forced labor . Racial separation laws prohibited relations between Germans and "non-Aryans."

The filmmaker's identity remains unknown—he or she may have been a member of the Gestapo, a local Nazi official, or a civilian observer. The film was discovered in an attic in Štúrovo, Slovakia, in 1946. A documentary about the case, titled Forbidden Love: The Story of Bronia and Gerhard , was released in 2002.
The signs are written in both Polish and German.
After these events, Gerhard was sent to fight on the eastern front, where he suffered a severe injury. He died in Germany in 1945. Bronia was sent to a concentration camp. Her fate remains unknown, but she is presumed to have died in the camp.

Lorenz Mekuli, 17, raped the mum, 23, repeatedly while on a two-day ice binge
A teenage gang member who repeatedly raped a mother in front of her seven-year-old daughter made his victim perform one final humiliating act.
Lorenz Mekuli was on a two-day ice binge when he subjected the 23-year-old mother to a sickening attack.
But not content with raping her, Mekuli, 17, demanded his victim wipe down the windows to get rid of his fingerprints.
Mekuli had broken into the property through the window and presumably wanted to remove any evidence of his presence.
The teenager from Hamilton on New Zealand's North Island has been sentenced to an eight year stretch behind bars.
He appeared in Hamilton District Court last Friday where he faced charges for rape, threatening to kill, sexual violation, attempted kidnapping, burglary and assault on a child.
The 23-year-old victim told the NZ Herald she was "really disappointed" with the sentence as it's hard to live a normal life following the ordeal.
She said: "He almost killed me and he almost killed my daughter.
"I still can't believe that it happened in my own place. How can this happen in New Zealand?"
Mekuli, then 16, broke into his victim's home via a window which had been left open on the morning of April 7.
He stole cash and made his way into the bedroom where the victim was sleeping with her daughter.
He jumped onto the bed and strangled the mother and daughter despite their screams and resistance.
Details of the horrific and lengthy attack were revealed in court.
Mekuli pulled the woman into the hallway and forced her to remove her clothes.
He raped the woman three times, punched her in the face and ordered her to perform oral sex while her daughter was forced to watch.
He also performed oral sex on her, Stuff reported.
At the end of the horrific violation, the woman was punched in the face a second time and forced to wipe down the windowsills to remove Mekuli's fingerprints.
The victims managed to escape to a neighbour's house after the teenager demanded he be driven away from the crime scene.
Police were called and Mekuli was tracked down six days later.
The court heard the teenager had been smoking methamphetamine in the two days before the incident.
Judge Louis Bidois told the court the victim's life had been 'totally destroyed' by the ordeal.
Crown prosecutor Louella Dunn said the victim lost confidence and struggled to go about normal activities of life including sleeping, exercising and socialising.
Ms Dunn sought a minimum of 14 years in jail claiming the community needed to be protected.
She said: "There is a risk of re-offending. There is a risk to the public."
Defence counsel Sacha Nepe argued for a lower sentence as the teenager endured a tough childhood involving domestic violence and drug use.
Mekuli, who showed no remorse for his victim, was sentenced to eight years in jail as the judge allowed a 35% discount for a guilty plea and his youth.

Vile footage captures sick attack where warped gang make victim call herself insulting names before booting her
THIS is the chilling moment a girl gang attacks a helpless teen they accuse of spreading rumours about a classmate sleeping with her stepdad.
The vile footage, which is being used as evidence in a police investigation, shows the victim being forced to humiliate herself while being kicked and punched.
She is made to call herself insulting names on camera before a boot stomps on her face.
There are even reports that this was the second violent assault on the defenceless victim in just two days.
The video, filmed in Russia , shows a pack of six girls circling the victim, who can only be named Kristina K to protect her identity.
Two male teens were also present during the attack.
One of the boys appears to hold the camera for most of the sickening video.
Four of the attackers and the two boys -- all of whom are aged between 14 and 17 -- have been shamed on Russian social media site Vkontakte.
The girls were named as Alexandra A, Avgustina R, Elena K, and Elena. The boys were named as Krill K and Alexander L.
Both the filmed assault and the alleged first attack are being investigated by police in Chaikovsky, a town in the Perm region.
The initial attack is thought to have been over a boy, according to investigators.
A girl that knows the attackers described them to local media as "a bad example for other teenagers".
Another said the attack was over "dirty gossip" being spread about a classmate sleeping with her own stepfather.
"So this girl gathered her friends and they beat her", she said.
