Human Design Bodygraph

Human Design Bodygraph

Leonid Tolokin

The system of Human Design combines several ancient esoteric systems, in particular, the position of heavenly bodies (Sun, Moon, 9 planets, Lunar Nodes) is taken from Astrology. Due to the unified system of calculation the bodygraph made by any specialist of the Human Design system will always be the same and will be deciphered in the same way, with comparable competence of the specialist.

The principal difference of Human Design from Astrology is a double account of positions of heavenly bodies in one chart. The column to the right of the bodygraph (black gates, gates of Personality) describes the skills given to a person at the moment of birth, when the child's body separated from the mother's body. The column to the left of the bodygraph (red gates, the Design gates) describes the skills given to the person 88 days before the moment of birth, when the soul “settled” into his embryo.

There are a total of 64 gates in the Design of Man. Graphically they are represented on the Human Design Mandala (Rave Mandala) and on the Human Design Bodygraph (Rave Chart).

What is a gate? This term was taken in Human Design from the Chinese Book of Changes (I Ching), the essence of which is as follows. Every manifestation of the human soul (or behavior) has been broken down into 64 typical patterns of behavior, and described in detail in the I Ching.

To understand what patterns of behavior there are in a person, a pie chart has been created, and in a special order applied to the outer circle of the Mandala (in the picture above - 6 bars next to the numbers on the outer circle). Next, one looks to see which celestial bodies are in the corresponding sector of the sky, and transfers them to the Bodigraph.

The mandala is the “map” on which the primary calculation is made as to the position of the heavenly bodies at the time of birth. Next, the gate is transferred to the rave map and we see the bodygraph of the person. In this way a unique genetic imprint of any individual is created.

The color of the gates on the Mandala corresponds to the color of the Center in which they are located in the Bodygraph. Each gate is divided into six sub-sectors called lines (on the Mandala wheel they are indicated by serifs on the arc of each gate).

For example, let's take the main gate of a person born from February 2 to February 8 of any year, in the picture the Sun of the Personality of this person will be in the 13th gate. On the outer circle of the Mandala these gates are approximately “at 10,5 hours”, they are highlighted in yellow color in the picture. Accordingly, in this sector of the sky and was the Sun at the time of birth of this person.

Further the 13th gate from the Mandala wheel is transferred to the graphic part of the bodygraph, in the center of G, and is painted on half of the distance to the neighboring gates (in this case, the 13th gate is opposite to the 33rd gate).

Similarly, the positions of all celestial bodies are transferred from the Mandala of HD to the Bodygraph. Each person has 26 gates fixed at birth, some of which may coincide with each other, and the combination of these 26 gates make a person unique.

When studying Human Design, the same phenomenon can be described with different words as synonyms. The term “gateway” is close to the terms skills, qualities, talents, gifts, behavior patterns, hexagrams, and these synonyms are used at different levels of familiarity with the HD.

If you tell a newcomer that he has a “Gate of the Listener” or the 13th gate, he probably won't know what you are talking about. However, you can tell him about this gate in simple words.

“You are a good listener. People perceive you as someone with whom they can share their stories and secrets. You are able to inspire others with your thoughts and universal solutions. You are open to interaction.”

Here you can already see the potential talent of the person, and his gift of listening to others for life experience, and the skill to correctly enter into relationships, etc. Even for a person who has heard very little about Human Design, this description will give an understanding of the essence of his 13th gate.
