Hugo Boss Private Accord For Him

Boss The Scent Private Accord Hugo Boss for men

It has an abrupt opening that settles to the hugo boss dna with a bitter dark chocolate note. Prefer the latest Hugo Boss EDP, which I highly recomend, but I think this will grow on me.
One of the few fragrances I instantly loved and my opinion didn't change after wearing it off and on for a couple weeks. It also performs great - projecting at least 6 hours and lasting 8 or more hours on my skin for me. It has a chocolate vibe to it and smells gourmand, but it is not too dark or dense at all. In fact, it has a bit of freshness to it that makes it addicting to smell and without getting cloying. I can see myself wearing this a lot especially in the Fall and Spring.
Love love love this scent - as a life long Mugler fan this is giving me A-Men vibes, it doesn’t smell the same but uses some of the same notes and is an amazing scent, highly recommended
I remember first time i tried this scent about then when it arrived to finland stores and remember likin it lot that it smelled lot of maninka, cacao and coffee. Now i have bottle of it few months and i think its very nice scent and it mostly smell on my skin, clothes and nose benzoin type of vanilla and woody notes and bit cacao and fruity notes. That suits me fine because benzoin is one of my favourite note. Smells delicious very sweet but manly. But i do not like that much the first smells after sprayin it to skin .maybe its the coffee note its dry and strong but it disappears guickly and its not too bad afterall . Also first few days when i tried it i was bit confused because it remind me of at least 3 different fragrances. but it was kinda pleasant and confusin experience. All fragrances it reminded i like those fragrances a lot.then i get also lot of ginger note wich is also one of my favourite note.I think many time it smells bit different but always this benzoin vanilla. Also when the scent stays my clothes especially adidas winter jacket It just smells amazin so good and juicy vanilla gourmand.. Overall very nice benzoin woody, fruity bit spicy seductive, scent my opinion and feels comfortable to wear it.Sweet but masculin definitely.
I first smelled this on paper and it smelled spicy, fruity, and sweet. I thought it was good but wasn't getting much of the coffee/cacao everyone was talking about. Just smelled like a pretty good mass appealing designer. Then I sprayed on skin and wow what a difference. Everything I said before but with a coffee/cacao base that makes it unique and wonderful. Fairly linear but the dry down does have some woody/vanilla notes that round it out. Definitely exceeded my expectations, for the price it's an excellent buy.
The Scent Private Accord is an attractive and intoxicating scent.
An opening of sharp, fresh spices and zest is joined by a deeper cocoa note.
Maninka fruit's intoxicating sweetness gradually seeps in, balancing the punchy ginger from the earlier minutes.
As the zest recedes and the Maninka grows, the cocao accord grows powerful.
Vanilla sweetness and a lightly roasted coffee combine to create an impression of latte, which mixes with the cocoa & Maninka to become a spiced chocolate/mocha accord.
This gourmand mocha accord is boosted by aromachemicals. An amber heat and the occasional whiff of artificial cedar hints at a booster layer of odorants which turbo charge this gourmand presentation.
The use of Maninka here is controlled - refer to The Scent Absolute for the final say in Maninka bombing - though, with the addition of vanilla/coumarin in the base, this scent is sweeter than its predecessors in The Scent line.
The use of coffee to complement The Scent's DNA works well - this is repeated in the later The Scent Absolute for Her.
Maninka and Cocoa complement each other in an unexpectedly enjoyable way, and marries smoothly into the gourmand presentation built by coffee and vanilla, boosted by synth woods.
Projection is good, but durability is poor for an EdT.
Overall, an interesting addition to The Scent line-up. This is a delectable, sensual and masculine mocha gourmand. Not only do I like the smell, this scent is widely appealing to females too - a compliment getter if it gels with your skin.
Along with the Absolute version, the Private Accord is my favourite in the line. I eagerly await an EdP version.
I would absolutely love this fragrance if the maninka fruit wasnt so dominant. The top three notes that come through are the maninka, cocoa, then coffee with ginger a strong fourth. The maninka fruit is not only the most dominant, but it seems to be the dominant sweetening agent making it more of a fruity-ish scent. I could do w/o the clashing ginger and bergamot notes too which kind of steer this into a "fresh" territory a bit.
This fragrance lacks the warmth that would normally come through in a fragrance featuring coffee, chocolate, and Vanilla. Its not strong enough for winter but will suit the fall or early spring.
Its a nice scent but ,again, its not as warm, deep, and comforting as the female counterpart which I find unisex if you want to test that one out.
What my girlfriend said about this one: "Last night you smelled SO good. I can't get over it. I need you to wear that all the time."
I told her that it has hints of chocolate and coffee in it. She said, "no wonder I love it so much!"
I smelled this one with fairly low expectations. I'm not the biggest fan of Hugo Boss as a house; I find most of their fragrances to be "just OK" and extremely redundant within their own catalog.
That being said, Private Accord totally blew me away. I was greeted by a blast of cacao and coffee, which quickly yielded to this beautiful blend of maninka, woody notes and vanilla. Absolutely intoxicating gourmand feel!
Unfortunately, this lasted for only a couple hours before it became a skin scent, and for something clearly intended for nighttime/colder weather, I can't accept that. Big shame, because this is easily one of the best fragrances I've smelled from this house - maybe THE best.
Hugo Boss the Scent Prive Accord EDP opens with a moderate projection of sweet, fruity, coffee, and woody notes. The opening is aromatic, delectable, well-balance, the notes are sharp. The maninka fruit and the coffee are the most noticeable opening notes along with a bergamot touch, at least initially, but soon enough, the cacao will join the blend meanwhile the bergamot will start dissipating. In this fragrance, the maninka fruit can be described as the scent of dried fruits, sweet and delectable. The coffee note, on the other hand, is evocative of blond coffee as opposed as black coffee. The vanilla is a base note, but its aromatic sweetness comes up as soon as the fragrance is applied. The cacao note is evocative to cacao powder, not chocolate. As the fragrance commences to dry-down, the benzoin will develop, making the fragrance feel dry, sweet, and resinous; the woody notes and Amberwood, will do the same; sadly, the initial sharpness and projection drops, the notes overlap and lose some identity. The rest of the notes in this fragrance are there to provide support, they are faint, some spicy, and a distant green touch. The fragrance has some noticeable opening to dry-down changes, during the opening, the notes are crisp and bright, the fragrance feels moist and projecting; however, towards the dry-down, the fragrance feels dry, the sharpness dissipates, the notes overlap although don’t lose the identify completely, and the initial moderate projection takes one step down to moderate to low. Once Hugo Boss the Scent Private Accord EDP has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate to low projection, sweet resinous (vanilla, benzoin), maninka, coffee, and cacao fragrance with woody and spicy accords. The fragrance feels casual, comforting, delectable, disappointing, fruity, low-quality, masculine, modern, natural, romantic, short-lived, sweet, warm, weak, woody, and pleasant.

PROJECTION: 3/10. Moderate to low, about 3 feet around the wearer.
SILLAGE: 3/10. Moderate to low, about 3 feet behind the wearer.
APPLICATION: 6 atomizations.

GENDER: Advertised for men, the featured notes (vanilla, cacao, Maninka, coffee) and resulting scent are unisex.

RECOMMENDATION: Hugo Boss the Scent Private Accord EDP can be purchased for about $40, the opening is fantastic, but the dry-down leaves anyone wishing for more. It is a nice to have, but not a must have. If maninka is what you are after, Hugo Boss the Scent Absolute EDP has a better performance.
BLIND-BUY: Yes, but consider its performance.

Hmmm, this was suppose to be a smell of freshly baked cookies to a women's nose.
The problem is, it's watered down to shit. The tester in the store had a thicker richer scent. This 200ml bottle i bought is def. more watered down, really disappointed cause i was initially excited about the bottle i ordered and was eagerly awaiting for it all week.
Immediate opening is gross, but gets better over time. Mid notes of a hint of traditional Hugo DNA which consists of red apple (which you need in the dry-down to lift-up & brighten the gourmand scents), mixed with a chocolate vibe among a few other notes, a hint of coffee and vanilla along with some kind of powder - but all watered down.... sigh...
This scent combo really works, and could be a monster hit, but because it's watered down it BELOW PAR. They fucked up, if this was more richer and 'thicker' of a gourmand scent it would be a monster hit. Disappointed. Released in 2018, my bottle is 2020, is this another victim of watered-down reformulation to fool themselves in widening profit margins? Hmmmm...
I like it a lot, but don't love due to it not being richer & more projective. I only paid $35US for a 100ml bottle which is fantastic, but if im going for a gourmand scent, id want something spectacular, and this isn't it, this is a poor man's gourmand. Which means, id recommend this would be wonderful for a student of any age. I can't see myself grabbing for this once i discover the god-tier gourmands.
*Edit: It's been over a month since i bought it, haven't grabbed it once.
*2nd Edit 1.5 months later:
Wore it today while shopping at Walmart, it's pretty good, just smells like a discounted designer frag, and im on a new level in my frag game where if i want a gourmand im going to wear something that is rich and packs a punch and is deliciously intoxicating. This is just 'okay'. Same genre as Rochas Man, and same opinion about it.
Honestly id wait for this to be a cheap discounter before buying. It's nothing to rave about.
*Edit: 2 Months later:
Need to decide if im going to keep this bottle or resell it as i invested money into it.
Wore it tonight on my Kanye hoodie clothes and not my skin this time during our first cold icy winter night. Wow, immediately & CONSTANTLY getting whiffs of it even without moving around in my car! It smells really good!....lol Think Cocca + Apple Cinnamon + Ginger + Musk. The pH level of the musk is flawlessly addictively balanced! The nose behind this creation nailed it! Like most Hugo frags, this one is also extremely linear and hard to pick out notes as they all blended together for a unique scent. You can def smell the classic and fabulous Hugo 'Green' frag as it's base in the background. For the price when on sale/discount it's a fantastic dumb-reach buy! It's synthetic but doesn't smell sickly cloyingly synthetic, making it a fantastic designer frag. I don't actually have anything like this in my collection that smells like this light gourmand, so, im keeping it! Smells FANTASTIC on clothes and lasts forever unlike when on skin! I now actually really recommending this frag! Perfect for a student as young girls undeveloped noses would go crazy for this! Again, with testing, turns out this frag's magic happens when sprayed on clothes and on a cold day.
*3rd Edit 3 months later:
Holy fuck this is the best frag i own for the stone-cold winter! <3
In bone-chilling air, it produces the most intoxicatingly delicious bouquet giving you constant whiffs of fresh baked cookies and some kind of next-gen floral that's sexy-masculine. My 'hey i like to cuddle' personality type scent for out in public.
I can't stop wearing this all week! I get constant whiffs and every time i do i say 'YUM!'.
One of my most favorite frags i own. Hated it during the summer, obsessively in love during the stone cold winter days where this thing is a monster! <3
This frag is slept-on like a mf! Im absolutely in love with this, addicted, cant believe this is a designer frag!
5/5 Woofs!
I purchased all 4 in the Scent line. This is my 3rd one I’m trying. I’ve enjoyed the original and the absolute. This falls within the The Scent’s DNA. I don’t know how to say this but this is straight up very seductive. I’m not sure if it’s the maninka fruit which carries across on the line. The cocoa is definitely very prominent. I can detect the vanilla but it’s mixed so well that with the other notes it makes this sweet smelling.
My problem with this is I want to consume this fragrance and I can easily go heavy handed on this. I fell into the trap if one spray is good then 10 is better! I’m carrying this scent like an aura of chocolatey goodness. I own the Valentino line where chocolate/cocoa is present but Private Accord is not that. I can’t compare this to Dior Homme because I haven’t tried it.
If your nose is keen to a mild chocolate mix with coffee and vanilla with an every so slight fruitiness than this is 100% buy it now purchase. Btw this was a blind buy.
A beautiful gourmand.
Not a coffee-intense fragrance as the notes voting suggest.
It does indeed share obvious similarity, especially at the opening, with Givenchy's discontinued Very Irresistible for men.
It's starts sweet and chocolatey, dries down to a dusty-and-powdery (maninka), woody, sweet smell. The dry down has a similar vibe to Carolina Herrera's CH Men and Diesel's Only The Brave Extreme; same woody sweetness.
To emphasize: not a lot of coffee. Barely any.
I really like it and I understand why some consider Private Accord to be the best from The Scent line.
Cool weather wear for adults of all ages.
Big "Like".
Initial spray caused me headache. After 1 minute it turn into smooth chocolate smell.
The most sexy/seductive of the scent line. Love it. Last 7-9 hours on me.
I'm crazy about The Scent Absolute edp, especially the unique aphrodisiac called Maninka is gorgeous & unique. So I wanted to give Private Accord a try. I've tested on a test strip and smelled the first opening, and again after 30 minutes. The 2 major components are chocolate and maninka as expected, but the chocolate is really too chemical to my nose, too hard. I like chocolate to eat, all kinds of chocolate, but in this fragrance, it smells like fake-chocolate. Totally not delicious or nice.
The maninka is al expected, great, but combined with chocolate, I will never buy this fragrance. I will stick with Hugo Boss The scent Absolute for men
The performance isn't spectacular but the scent is impressive!! This deserves a lady for sure... Kinda reminds me of Hugo's take on La Nuit De L'Homme but no cardomom... I'm sure y'all will disagree but I find this to be one of Hugo's best colognes. The chocolate is okay but when mixed with the coffee in the dry down it's very pleasant smelling!! 7/10, worth at least 35-40 dollars in my opinion.
I was wearing this fragrance (freshly applied) in a library and I ended up sitting in the same table with a group of girls who were hanging out 2-3 metres away. Things went crazy when some of them—out of the blue—said "Oh my God do you smell that? It's so good!!" "Yeah I can smell that as well!" "Whose perfume is that??". It's at that moment I realized the magic of having a seductive fragrance. Although despite the blind compliments, I decided to stay cool and not saying anything, just wanted to keep them curious and guessing since there were a couple of guys there haha.
Been wearing it for 7 months now so here's my take:
Scent: sexy and mysterious, very appealing to some people as long as the temperature is cold
Longevity: 6-9 hours
Projection: fills a room in the first 15 minutes then dials back to become an arm length for the next 2 hours
Sillage: leaving me a good scentrail
Overall score: 9/10 !
Hugo Boss The Scent Private Accord holds a special place in my heart. It is my first designer blindbuy and what takes me to the fragrance game—will keep this gem for life!
I'm not really a gourmand guy so took time to understand this fragrance. It was selling for 50% discount at a retailer so I bought it after finding it to be unique on a tester strip, which it is.
However, as much as I found the opening enticing on the tester strip with of mocha mixed with maninka fruit (I don't know what maninka actually smells like, hadn't even heard of the fruit where I live in India), the fragrance is a bit overbearing and thick in the first half an hour, almost cloying for me.
I do start to really like the fragrance as it goes past half an hour mark and starts to hit the base notes and really enjoy the lingering cacao smell.
It is not a pure love for me and definitely not a blind buy for someone not particularly a gourmand and lover of sweet fragrances. Thoroughly appreciate the fact that it's a very well blended fragrance
What I do like here is that the fragrance broadened my horizons from lover of aquatic/citrus fragrances for summer and resinous/boozy ones for winter
Fragrance 7.5
Performance 7.5
Uniqueness 9
I own they fragrance....... upon opening I find it a little too strong. Use sparingly, but the dry down is a lovely chocolate and smells great 8/10
I generally dont really like the scent line..but this one is perfect..I just cant tell you how I fell wearing this one..10/10
Smells like a banana split or a smoothie shop
Peculiar this one. The cocoa accord was none other than the smell of Tootsie Roll candies. You might think I am trying to deceive you with a clever ruse—but you have my solemn word. I was shocked, and disappointed, and somewhat appalled. It is not a desirable beauty enhancement—nor any advance to one man's style. It is like the inside of a Trick or Treat bag. Dastardly. My condolences to anyone who had their Halloween candy stolen.
I'm no fragrance expert but I like sniffing perfumes.
When I saw this at Macy earlier this evening, I was excited to try it after reading the high rating on this forum.
I sprayed 3 times to my shirt, around chest area. In the first few seconds it smelled sweet, fruity, yummy. The smell attacks my nose and part of my tongue.
But then it quickly turned into something deep, I don't know what it is exactly. That smell sunk straight into my throat, not like a sharp alcoholic smell though. But something deep yet bothering to me.
The closest thing my memory could recall is the smell of a bathroom after someone just smoked in it. The smells leans toward that of cigarette smoke residue on clothing, but a bit more subtle. I don't know which note causes this smell.
Is it what cacao smells like?
the top notes on this come across somewhat synthetic on the opening but every stage of this one is refined, classy, and smelling good. this has that unmistakable Boss dna. I haven't smelled too many of the flankers for this one. I smelled the scent intense and it's supposed to be close to this one. when I smelled it at the department store they were pretty similar except this one has cacao in it and is more of a gourmand. the opening is still nice though and this one is good from the first spray all to the end of the dry down, which becomes more chocolatey and dark as it progresses.
on the opening spray for whatever reason I do get a lot of ginger and even some orange notes even though they're not listed. it's very sweet on the opening, an intoxicating sweet, not cloying at all. very well done. I don't get pineapple or lemon in the notes at all in any point of wearing this. this is kind of a mall scent dna but in the best possible way and smells kinda like a freshie in some sense, but it is sweet and dark. it turns into a boozie and darker scent that is sweet but masculine as it progresses. this one is like a gourmand but not overly sweet at all.
the middle notes on this one come across a little "soapy" believe it or not. but nonetheless still clean and fresh smelling. I really like it. the Boss dna is prevalent in the opening as well as the mid notes. and on the dry down it becomes much more of a mature manly scent and more of a gourmand. so on all stages I really like this one.
could wear this one in any occasion really but it's best for dress up and intimate moments. projection is fine, and performance is average. some say this one is beastmode, I don't think so, but it gets the job done with no complaints in that department. not really an office fragrance, but you could get away with it. you could also get away with it being a casual frag just to wear around the house. I do like it that much that I wear it just for myself. I think women will absolutely love this one and want to eat you up. or they won't like it at all. it's a love or hate and most women will love it unless they don't like the way sweet coffee or chocolate smells, and what women doesn't like those smells??
fine for a blind buy. from what I gather this is one of the best from the Boss lineup. but also I haven't smelled much of the frags from this lineup myself so I can't really give an opinion on that. if you like boozy, dark, ambery, sweet, gourmands my goodness you'll love this one.
Scent- 9.4/10
Projection- 7.8/10
Performance- 8.2/10
Value- 9/10
Overall- 9/10
@morgan lee is correct.
Smelt is the FORMAL ENGLISH BRITISH past tense for smell.
It is also the word used for the production of ores.
SMELLED is the past tense for smell in AMERICAN English..
Extracted from the OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY.
end of argument.
@Williamsmell
I think you’ll find smelt is correct in British English. Maybe you need to go to school?
The original the scent with its dominant maninka fruit note is quite strong, overly sweet and doesn't feel pleasant to my nose at all, that's why I didn't like it that much. This one is however a much better version of the original. Very well balanced. The maninka note is still there, still strong, but it's not as aggressive as it used to be.
This is great. This smell comes closest to a chocolate smell I have ever smelt. I'm not a gourmand fan. I prefer things like givency pi air. Prada L'homme. Scents like incivintus hurt my head my eyes. But this is one I really like the scent of. No sharp stuff. Just very thick and semi sweet. Not as sweet as spice bomb or 1 mil.
I absolutely love the scent private accord, if you love coffee and chocolatey notes you will love this, and then a slightly fresh fruity background gets noticed. it's definitely warm but has a well balanced fresh background. perfect for colder months or summer evenings.
Hugo Boss has stepped up their game, great job.
Edit: i got myself a bottle, i couldn't resist. i highly recommend it, The longevity is excellent 12+ hours and i can still detect it on my skin and the projection is moderate to heavy. it has an amazing opening, very niche quality.
Just doesnt last on me...polo red extreme is similar but better longevity. my bottle is up for sale/swap
Fall slowly creeping in little by little and this fragrance just hits it for me in all the right ways. Another Hugo Boss masterpiece imho, the coffee notes, ginger, little bit of pepper....just a scent that gets me every time, gorgeous
This is fantastic...if u love chocolade coffee scent u should defenitly try this...and it's not really close tho the other the scent or the scent intense....this is only like 50 to 60 % close.....it's a chocolade cofee maninka bomb vanilla scent...this is a gourmand..which has decent projection for about 2 hours or so then becomes to sit closer after that but u can still smell it 6+ hours later .....performance 7.5/10
One of the most greatest gourmands ever...huge blast of cacao and litle ginger in opening and the chocolade becomes prominent until for about 15 minutes the maninka fruits pops up with the mocha in the back and the drydown is all woody chocolade with litle maninka.....projection 7/10 long lasting 8./10 ..smell 8.5/10
A fun scent- warm and cozy great for fall.
First time I smelt it I wasn't blown away, finding it too light and not leaving an impression.
But luckily I gave it another go today, and man! suddenly it all turned 180 degrees;
I was blown away by the lasting impression it left on my skin, even after showering (the heat outside....whew!)
A mature and sophisticated SCENT.
Very pleasant and warm scent. Its hard to be in a bad mood when wearing this. Its a winner!
Fell in love with the Cacao notes in the opening. But for the price of 457 Dirhams, I know this scent will remain in the sellers shelf. Lol. Perfect for cold weather. Warm and stylish. Ladies will love this smell emanating from your neck. 😉
8.8/10
UPDATE: I found a better deal of 180 Dirhams for the 100ml bottle. Good deal citrusy cacao!
Admittedly I couldn't stand this when I first tried it several months ago, at least I think it was this one as the bottles are confusingly similar for this, the original 'The Scent' and 'The Scent Intense'.
For the early part of this scent I'm reminded of orange chocolate such as a 'Terry's Orange' with a light coffee aroma and a little gingery spiciness. It's not bad. After a while however it seems to become more off putting to me but bear in mind I'm not a fan of 'The Scent' line in general, I guess it's the 'maninka' accord that I'm not too fond of, however so far I find this the nicest in the line.
For a supposedly heavier kind of fragrance I found it quite light with performance on the low side of average. I can see why some people like these scents and I give them bonus points for originality but I'd say definitely try before you buy.
Warm, sensual, elegant. Very pleasant fragrance. Something a strong and classy gentleman would wear. As a woman, i find it inviting and intriguing.
Sillage could be better though.
Anyway, Thumbs up!
Final note: 9/10
Coffee beans, dark chocolate, brown sugar and hints of cinnamon are notes you get from this heavenly fragrance. Because it is dense, I prefer to use it on cold winter days as it creates a sense of warmth and comfort.
It starts with ginger, bergamot and chocolate. The drydown is a maninka bomb. I got some vanilla after a few hours.
Longevity : 9/10
Projection : 7/10
Hmmmm 10/10 mature night Scent... when I did blind buy Nasomatto Pardon because of chocolate note in it I was expecting something like this which I disappointed by Pardon. Oud heavily Cannabis smelling Pardon... but this one is raw cacao powdery and enough dark for wearing at nights,
Attends or occasions
I can get some Booz nuances on the background as well
Huge blast of mocha for the first 15 minutes. After that it’s back to The Scent. Imagine your date spilling hot mocha all over you then tries to cleans you up with The Scent wipes.
Similar spillage and longevity with The Scent, which is about 1-2 hours of decent performance. How good is the spillage? Probably the distance you can get hot mocha splashes.
Disclaimer: I’m actually a Hugo Boss fragrance collector. But damn their drinks are weak.
love this smells like a tropical forest filled with tropical fruit
If you like light coffee scents like givenchy play intense then you got to try this.
I get a beautiful light cocoa scent with a little coffee, and some beautiful woods. The unique and almost date fruit like sweetness almost gives this fragrance a amber like nuance.
A very classy and safe scent for gourmand or sweet fragrance lovers.
This , santal masculine and pure tonka are my favorite cocoa fragrances.
Projection is light, but distinctive, I get 5 to 6 hours longevity. Great date fragrance for a refined man.
Tested today @ Macy's.
Well....it is just an "OK" scent for me. I was expecting this to be different from what I actually smelled. I just don't get the coffee/chocolate in there...???...
This is Boss the Scent with added sweetness..IMHO.
Typical....sorry.
Okay .. People who like the chocolate & coffee perfumes.. perhaps they will like this release from Hugo boss house .. honestly I'm not a fan of chocolate and coffee perfumes .. and note that the chocolate & coffee vipes will not last to the end .. it's only in the begining .. after some time of waering it .. the smell will turn to something like the regular (Boss Scent ) version. . Yest it's powerful and long lasting but again my problem with chocolate vipe I didn't like it.. Not my type.. so I prefer the Boss scent intense instead of it.
Try it before you buy.
Tried a decant of this and immediately bought a bottle afterwards. Love this stuff. I don't seem to get as much of the chocolate note as others have said in their reviews. I do get some just not as much. Great projection and lasts quite a while on my skin. Fruity, chocolate, coffee scent. To me it seems a bit fresh in the initial opening from the fruit.
Had this on and stopped at a restaurant to get something to eat, and one of the girls working there walked by me and said "something smells like candy around here". I told her it was my cologne, cause it has that same sort of smell to me at various points during the dry down.
But would recommend this to anyone to try. Great fragrance.
Definitely a big blast of cacao so if you aren't a big chocolate fan this would be a pass for you. Has a relatively mature vibe to my nose. Something a well put together man 30 and up would pull off extremely well. 100% a cold weather fragrance.
Warm and gourmandish, I like it but it's a pass for me being I have POLO Red Extreme which I would consider a more playful youthful version of this scent that fits me a little better at this stage of my life.
Overall a nice gentlemanly cologne that could quite versatile in the winter.
I smelled it and instantaneously smelled tootsie rolls that found some semi-sweet fruit and ginger to tangle with, I then put my money on the counter.
I have a dearth of knowledge and a thin wallet when it comes to niche gourmands, so I imagine there's some cacao zenith out there, but this is all I've wanted from a "chocolate" note in a fragrance.
It's really a wonderful scent.
to me this is a ' oh what do you have on ' has a strong cacao , and lets be honest most women like chocolate ! tried this on in shop on wrist and first impression was chocolate/musky ! liked it but was 50/50 so young woman in shop said come back after the dry down and see what you think, after about 1 hour i loved it and bought 50 ml bottle.it has a mature grown up more sophisticated smell to it , not for a young man in a night club, more a man 35+ for a dinner party / gentlemans club / casino, not that i go to a gentlemans club, casino or dinner partys ! but has a dark romantic feel , if you know what i mean.
This has a niche like quality to it. I am not a person who usually buys chocolate colognes. I don't really buy oriental woody fragrances as well. But Private Accord does something special for me. It brings all the notes together in a way that no single note jumps in your face.
I feel like I have found my new staple. I firstly felt like I was impulse buying as I jumped on the 6.7oz and paid a lot by the time taxes were accounted. I am now glad that I got the bigger bottle. My weather is cooler year round so I'll try to pull it off on a regular basis.
A+ grade for this guy
good release
first blast with heavy of chocolate for few mins
then the sweet of maninka appear and well blend with coffee
i like the top note it's not to sweet like the polo red
but the middle the patchouli note came in and not so good for me
the middle note last for 1-2hours that bothering me some
after that the dry down is good good blend with woody note
i like the dry down a lot but cannot bear the middle note
so u need to try it by yourself to judge to decide
Wow wow wow!! This smells like a niche fragrance. I had zero intention on trying this fragrance. The lady at the counter kept insisting so I finally agreed and all I can say is wow. The opening is nice and it really transitions wonderfully. I’ve worn it a lot of times and it gets a lot of compliments even after I think the smell is gone. I don’t often buy repeat bottles, but this is one I will always refill.
Overall I give this an 8.5 out of 10
Considering it’s a cheaper designer I give it a 10 out of 10
Did I mention WOW?
Smells like milk chocolate for the first 5 seconds and then smells like a worm. Another top note bait and switch.
This beautiful gourmand is next on my list..... this is an amazing chocolade coffee woody scent with fruty undertones.... the opening is mostly fruty cacao chocolade and dry down to woody chocolade....... it reminds me a bit of amen and polo red extreme
I'm not much of an authority on Hugo Boss fragrances but this released intrigued me, given its gourmand description.
Hugo Boss' Boss The Scent Private Accord is largely what I've come to expect of designer men's releases pivoting toward gourmands without wholly becoming gourmands.
Fresh/spicy ginger meets a hefty amount of cocoa and slight hints of coffee, along with fruit notes that are faint, at best.
Performance-wise, it's decent but ordinary enough as a colder weather option. That it's not too dense and quirky makes it work year-round, as well, perhaps on warm weather nights.
At retail ($87 for 100ml EDT) I wouldn't recommend anyone consider it, but predictably it'll be on grey market sites if it isn't already (it's on FragranceNet currently, but sold out, allegedly $30 for the 100ml when it was in stock), and prices that are half or less of the retail certainly make it much more appealing.
7 out of 10
very well balanced, for first five minutes , the most natural cacao note, that I ever smelled, very good edition, good job Hugo.
What a nice surprise!
Yes, it still smells like the original, and yes it still smells designer-ish.
This will not blow you away, but if you go in with low expectations, you may be in for a nice treat!
It's certainly nothing spectacular, but the added chocolate note is DELICIOUS. It blends so well with the notes. It's not a Hershey's chocolate bar, but it's a lovely delicate, chocolate note which adds a massive dimension to this fragrance.
A little of this chocolate goes a long way for this one...So good!
You need to try this one. Props to Hugo Boss for this one.
Oh....and the bottle....is absolutely gorgeous. Excellent creation. Glad to have it in my collection.
YUMMY!!!
This is suprisingly good. Although not worth current price. Reminds me of Polo Red Extreme. I am sniffing my wrist all day today and really enjoy it :)
Opening is mostly fruitty cacao chocolate with some delicious ginger note. Then it becomes the Intense version (dusty leather with this weird maninka note) and ends with classy and elegant woody chocolate that reminds me of Lacoste Elegance. Boss as a house in general gets a lot of hate but this release does not deserves it (thank you Coty for bringing Boss to the right track).
If you are into mainstream sweet fruitty chocholate cocoa leatherish scents like Dior Homme Intense or Valentino Uomo Intense you will definately like this one.
Also performance of this is very good.
8/10
The best of all 3(4) in "The Scent" line.
I consider "The Scent - Parfum" (Black bottle) a scent of its own!
Cocoa, coffee and the maninka fruit and this time Boss did it right and it still has this fantastic hazelnut vibe going on even though hazelnut is not listed.
Let's be honest "The Scent - EDT" and "The Scent Intense - EDP" seemed like testers or should we just say money grabbers.
Still one of the best designed bottles in my humble opinion.
Rating: 4/5
Released: 2018
Perfumer/Nose: Bruno Jovanovic
(2) Bottle size in use: 100 ml.
(2) Batch Code: 8213 = 1 August 2018
(1) Batch Code: 8185 = 4 July 2018 (Emptied, 50 ml.)
The initial spray starts with a smell like a hot drink of hazelnut/milk that lasts for a few minutes then that certain note disappears and settles down into a thick composition that lasts for a long time. a scent well done. I'll take one Boss!.
This is the best Boss scent in a long time. Dark, woody, chocolatey and coffee-ish. It reminds me a bit of Polo Red Extreme.
@007peter :
Good review, thank you.
Despite, on my skin, Boss Bottled intense and Hugo Just different have also a good performance.

♥ Chocolate Wonderland ♥
*******************************
I like [ Boss the SCENT ] fresh & masculine but poor performance
I really like [ SCENT INTENSE ] much stronger & with superior performance
I am in ♥ with [ SCENT private accord ] This is Chocolate scent @its finest. I can smell chocolate from opening to its drydown, and performance is amazing. Finally a BEAST from Hugo Boss.

Smell even better on SWEATING SKIN
*********************************************
I was running @the gym 6hrs after spraying Private Accord. I thought the fragrance was gone but when I begin to SWEAT, the fragrance really KICK UP to yet another level, to yet another Dimension. My salty skin blended nicely with sweet spicy chocolate producing a beautiful whiff of myself. I was intoxicate with my own whiff running. I think Private Accord would perform amazing in clubs dancing.
****************************
Great Projection & Longevity
****************************
the Ginger + Black Pepper give this fragrance some serious KICK in projection. People will smell you in a good way.

Best Hugo Boss Ever Created
**********************************
I like Hugo Boss, but always disappointed in its "gentlemanly" poor projections & poor longevity. As the result, I avoid buying them. This new SCENT private accord is like the SCENT on Steroid with a hot melted chocolate pour over the fragrance. This is a winner!

Best Release of 2018 for me
**********************************
1. Boss Private Accord
2. Azzaro Wanted by Night
3. PB 1 Million Lucky
WONDERFUL !
Top notes : incredibile nice fruits with a hint of cacao.
Drydown : coffee, almost leather, smokey and dark chocolate.
Manly, mature, elegant and warm.
Perfect for the cold time (day or evening).
IMO, it's a fruiter version of CH men privé blended with the original Boss The Scent.
Performance is VERY good (12 hours...).
Among the best releases of 2018.
Finally, a men's perfume I can get on board with. This is stunning and even better than the women's version which dries down to something more citrus. I wanted less citrus and this one is warm, spicy, just enough ginger, comforting and sexy all at the same time. There's even a breath of freshness that shines through at times. It lasts a few hours. I cannot recommend this perfume enough for everyone. It's gorgeous
Bought this today and wore it out to dinner. Rich cacao opening which mellows down to a cosseting, warm, gentle sweetness. I kept getting pleasant hits of it throughout the evening. Four hours later and it's still noticeable. I'll continue using this for more intimate affairs on cold evenings.
Just smelled this at Macy’s today & really like it. Opening has a really nice cacao chocolate ginger note that made me literally out loud say mmm after spraying it on my hand. Then it settled down fairly quick to an elegant sensual woody chocolate. I can tell this won’t be a beast or project or last that long so far but it smells great & screams FALL so I had to buy it & add my first BOSS scent to my collection. Smells nothing like DHI or VUI.
This smells nothing like DHI or Valentino Uomo Intense. It’s more similar to Bond Sutton Place and John Varvatos Vintage
Sorry to say I wasn't too impressed with this one. Smells very redundant and similar to whats already on the market. Think about fragrances like Dior Homme Intense, Givenchy Gentlemen edp and Valentino Uomo Intense then you know what route this one takes. Smells like a lighter version of these fragrances. A lot of Cacao with some coffee, but not so thick and spicy as the above mentions. I do get a slight earthiness, maybe from the Maninka fruit, I'm not sure but all and all, if you dont have any of the other fragrances but you enjoy chocolate and coffee scents then check it out, but if you own any of those others than you're not missing anything.
