Just saw on twitter that a TON of OW content creators got info on OW, and while under NDAs, they seem to have restored hope in the franchise for next year. We can speculate!
I wonder if they'd ditch the whole overwatch 2 thing now with hindsight, and instead just update the game so that players and OWL can play the same live game in April.
What are your thoughts on this news?
they would never abandon the OW2 title, but I could see them maybe redefining it. Like, putting PvP content out to live over the next year or so and calling it "Overwatch 1.5" or something until they fully release the PvE stuff with Overwatch.
what's more likely though is that a public beta will go live with a lot of content to coincide with the OWL
I'm worried that OW2 will be dead on arrival if it ever comes out because this game is losing players daily. There's only so long people are willing to wait for what should be an update to a multi-player game.
Yeah they are also selling Overwatch 2 Legos already.
Or rather, they CAN'T do it. Unless Blizzard has grown up just a little bit and are going to let the Overwatch team do what they wanted to do in the first place which is just add the story mode on, probably as an expansion, I doubt they'll be able to ditch it being a sequel

I feel that their in too deep to simply abandon everything in OW2 to update OW1(as much as I would like that) considering it’s been about 2 years since OW2’s announcement
i don’t know if i’ve ever really seen such unanimous praise for a game on twitter, especially with how cynical most creators have (understandably) become over the years with this game..
I was going to ask this. I don't know most of creators so I'd like to know if they are the type of creators that are sick of the game/out of hope or if they all just blindly love OW, or at least got some good respect. I only know KarQ and I know he's in good terms with the game in general, still plays and creates content for it.

Most funny thing, is how they specifically chose content shills so they can spread good vibes, meanwhile we are how long after echo release? And still no game in sight. They should be sharing with everyone, not chosen under NDA

It doesn't matter if the exclusively-OW content creators are hyped. They're hyped because they're seeing any and all content and feeling that their careers aren't over.
If they can excite former OW content creators like Seagull, Tim, xQc, THEN it's the real deal.
It's the new skins fo winter wonderland.
That is the only thing I can imagine giving this game "hope" at this point. Immediate shift to giving us the new engine and 5v5. Rolling out the reworks and new maps/modes in later months.
OW2 PvP-side launch in mid-2022 with not 4, nor 5, but 6 + new heroes.
PvE-side launch / story released postponed (but officially planned) to late 2022 or early 2023.
Was 4 the official number before or the only one mentioned? Personally for a sequel I’d expect at least a 33% increase to the roster
Fitzyhere DID stream today using “one day this will say ‘OW2 Beta Today!!!’” or something along those lines as his stream title today, and then changed it soon after 👀
Hi, it's a couple of days late, but I've made some findings that check some of your boxes here.
Between yesterday and today two streamers (who I will not outright name -if asked i'd only reveal one of them-) I know of had slip ups; one streamer was in the meeting, the other found out about it's contents through the ones that did attend. The first one revealed that they would be able to tell us about what they were showed around January or February; the second one, in a now-deleted tweet said two things, that "it's pretty easy to figure out that an OW2 Beta is most likely happening soon" and that "chances are OW2 PVP and PVE are separated" (the tweet was longer, I'll share a link to the screenshot if needed). So there's that.
I noticed also. A bunch of content creators are suddenly super hyped for overwatch and alluding to something major. I’m hoping it’s either a release date for Overwatch 2, or that blizzard finally decided to change their minds and release a new hero for overwatch 1.

It seems like LEGO announced their first OW2 set. It could just be a coincidence but the timing is pretty interesting.
My thoughts exactly. Lego wouldn't just release sets 2 years before the release. A few months maybe like they do with movies

Resurrect Mercy no longer gains any Resurrect enchantments from Valkyrie. *** Spoiler - click to reveal *** 1. Get a group of 12 people. 2. Have everyone add each other as a friend in advance. 3. Enter a game as a three stack and have everyone else spectate off of them from the social tab (make sure to select "Join Game" and not simply "Spectate"). As people leave, the spectators will take their place**. Having the spectators join as described means they won't be kicked in between games. 4. As soon as you get a person both sides, communicate to see how much people should be spectating both sides (i.e. how many randoms are on each side). 5. Once the lobby is full with all 12 people, have the opposing team kill your teammates and then resurrect them. Do this 5 more time to unlock the achievement. Remember to keep the objective contested unless it's a Control map which will not need contesting unless someone captured it. TROLLING CAN GET YOU BANNED IF YOU GET REPORTED. BEWARE OF THE METHODS YOU USE TO GET RANDOMS OUT OF THE LOBBY.

Not a complex one, but just in case you need help: Like a lot of the achievements in here, there's a bit of luck with this one. I kept getting the Revive x3 to appear, but couldn't get the x4. What eventually worked was playing on an escort level. The payload was approaching the final destination, and I had my rez. I listened for an opposing team ult (in this case, D.Va), and ducked out of the way. After the rest of the team wiped, I hit to fly to them, and rezzed everyone. Again, this takes a little luck because if your team is paying attention a lot of times they won't get killed by by the ult. But in the final payload push moments, people become more desperate and risk more. Good luck. Sorry if this doesn't help. I saw there was no guide yet and just wanted to offer a hand if possible. EDIT: Additional info from CR4SHED: - Resurrect only works within 10 seconds of an allies death. - Resurrect currently has a range of 15 meters.
