To install apps on your huawei watch 3 /3 Pro, you must first activate the developer options on your watch. Via the Settings app (icon in the app drawer in the shape of a gear)

or directly from the quick menu by selecting the settings toggle (always with the gear icon)

enter the information menu

and scroll until you find the entry Build number.

Tap above until you see the message that you have become a developer. The developer options menu can now be found in the settings app items.

At this point, connect the watch to a Wi-Fi network.

It is preferable for a matter of stability and practicality to use the telephone hotspot.

With the watch connected in Wi-Fi enter the developer options and enable the following debug options.

HDC Debugging and Debugging over Wi-Fi

If everything is in order, the IP address of your watch to be used with the Bugjaeger program that will be used to load the Apps appears under the Debug via wi-fi item.

If the IP address does not appear in the debug via Wi-Fi item, with the watch connected to the network, simply disable and re-enable the debug via Wi-Fi flag.

In addition to a more stable connection, using the phone's hotspot also allows you to always have the same IP which will then be used with Bugjaeger. Possibly disable the bluetooth connection on the watch for a more stable connection. Another thing to do for a more stable connection is to activate the Active screen option from the quick settings menu.

It is also recommended to extend the duration of the Active Screen feature from 5 to 10 minutes.

To do this from the settings menu

Go to the Display and brightness menu

Then Screen Duration

Select 10 minutes in the Screen Time menu

Once this is done, when we activate the Active Screen function, the new duration of the function will appear

So now with the watch connected to the phone's hotspot, bluetooth disconnected and active screen enabled our connection should be stable enough to allow us to install apps on our watch.

The app we will use to install the apps on our watch is Bugjaeger, freely downloadable from the phone's playstore.

Just for the record, in addition to the free version, there is a Premium version for those who want to support the developer (very helpful person) and eliminate advertising and the limit of 7 operations per session.

To link the watch to Bugjaeger you need to enter the IP address of the watch into the program. Upon opening the Bugjaeger program it will look like this:

To be able to connect the clock, press on the blue plug at the top right

The option to enter the IP address of your watch appears, which you find indicated in Debug via Wi-Fi

The IP address is indicative. You must enter the IP address of your watch.

Enter the IP address of your watch and then press Connect

Bugjaeger connects to your watch :

At this point, an authorization request appears on the watch:

Swipe up and select:

Always allow from this device

Confirm authorization:

You now have the watch linked to Bugjaeger

To verify that your watch is fully connected to the Bugjaeger app, swipe down on the Bugjaeger app. It will show you the apps installed on the watch.

To install apps on your watch you need to give a command that will disable the validation of applications that try to install from external sources on your watch, otherwise it would not be possible to install the app you want to install on your watch.

To do this, let's go to the Commands panel of the Bugjaeger app

Click on the blue icon with <> and open the command line

You will be presented with this screen

The command to enter is the following:

pm disable-user com.android.packageinstaller

Paste the command and hit submit. The result if all went well is the following:

Now the watch is ready to install apps.

To install the apps go back to the Packages panel

From the Packages panel click on the + at the top right

This menu opens for you

Click OK

The file manager opens there to choose the app to install.

Select the app and the process starts and ends in Automatic

Let's install for example File Manager +

When completed, it appears at the bottom of the Bugjaeger app:

package installed

At this point the app is installed on your watch.

To avoid any problems, at this point you need to give the command that will enable the validation of applications that try to install from external sources on the watch.

From the Bugjaeger Commands panel issue this command:

pm enable com.android.packageinstaller

The result will be this:

At this point you are done with the installation and can enjoy using your watch.

After you finish it is recommended to turn off developer options.
