FROM their massive smash remixing Cream’s Sunshine of My Love to Promised Land, Bomb the Terrace and Been a Long Time, The Hoxton Whores have always known the exact makings of a huge hit.

But then when you have been DJing and producing together for over decade as they have it is hardly surprising that your ear tunes to what’s hot.
And tomorrow night the guys, whose current single is unbelievably a re-working of the David Essex classic Gonna Make You a Star (it works honest!), are coming to Liverpool to play for High Society as the Duke Street club launches the first in a series of monthly special parties.
Those of you who get yourselves over there are in for a treat from these guys who are as well regarded for their wild party sets as they are for their production work.
The Whores (that sounds charming doesn’t it) aka Gary Dedman and Kevin Andrews first came together back in Hoxton when they started a music distribution company together to allow them to focus on producing huge club tracks that would instil a great party atmosphere and work well in their own sets.
They say more than anything they love making tracks that bring energy to the dance floor and give back something to the crowds that have been supporting them DJing over the years.
After producing under many different pseudonyms, including the Disco Darlings and Flaunted DJs, Hoxton Whores – named after the area they are from – won out.
As internationally recognised DJs, Gary and Kevin hold residencies at Pacha and the CRoss in London and their extremely busy schedule regularly takes them to all corners of the world, which means getting the opportunity to see them playing right here in Liverpool is not to be missed.
If you are still not convinced, then take it from the horse’s mouth and hear Gary himself explaining what you can expect from a Hoxton Whores set.
He says: “ A vocal, funky start – a journey, maybe getting a bit twisted, if that’s what they want. I always play to the crowd. If they want it I’ll get a bit darker and twisted.”
