How to submit a game🚀
What you will need
• The build of the game. A WebGL or Windows build is best. That will allow more people to play your game.
• Name of the game
• Game description
• Screenshot of the game
• Cover art. Picture 630x500 pixels (minimum 315x250)
Screenshots and gameplay videos are not obligatory, but they help a lot to get an impression of the game.
Uploading a game
1. Create a page with the game on itch.io
Or follow the link https://itch.io/game/new
Or on the site click Upload new project
2. Fill in the Title and Project URL
3. In the Kind of project field select HTML if you have a WebGL build, or Downloadable otherwise
4. In the Pricing section, select No payments
5. In the Uploads section, upload the archive with the game
For WebGL build select This file will be played in the browser
For archives, it is better to use ZIP.
If the build of your game is more than 1GB, then fill the archive in any cloud and put the link through the button Add External. Do not forget to check the link
6. Add a description in the Description
It is best to write: a short description of the game, a description of controls, a list of participants and what they did
7. Save the page. After that, under Visibility & access select Public
8. Save the page again
Submitting the game to the jam
1. Go to https://itch.io/jam/katana-jam-iii and click Join jam
2. Click Submit your project
3. In the Existing game section, select the game you created in the previous section
4. Answer the questions about art and music.
5. Click Submit
After that, you should have two pages: a game page and a submission page (page of the same game for jam)
How to add contributors on itch.io
To participate in the jam it is enough for one registered participant, who will create a page with the game and send it to the jam.
In this case, other participants will not display the game in the profile. In order to correct this, add the other participants as co-authors on itch.io.
1. To do this on the page of the game click Edit game
2. From the top menu, select More and choose Admins
3. Enter the member's nickname on itch.io
4. A window opens with a link to the invitations. Send this link to another participant. He must confirm the invitations
5. Select Display as contributor
