How to keep boredom at bay when you work as an underground security guard during long hours

The times are hard. The gig economy has made it harder for me to make it through this new environment. Before the pandemic, I was doing very well. I was also employed as a dental assistant. I now have to take a night-time security position at the nearby machine manufacturing plant. It is mostly automated, employees are here in the daytime, but night time crew consists of myself and two engineers. I've got an emergency telephone number I can call if there is an issue or machinery ceases to function. After that, I call engineers and/or the outside line to get more engineers. I do nothing. The company isn't even producing anything here therefore night guard is simply a glorified switchboard operator.

It's peaceful and quiet and I find it enjoyable. It's quiet. I am a very spooky sleeper, I am awoken by excessive gas release in the night however, here I am thriving because it's so peaceful, machines create an unforgettable white noise atmosphere, maybe it's something I should test at home, a proper atmosphere.. And so I stay up all night at night, laying in bed in anticipation of it to come to an end so that I can get home faster. Although nights can be boring I attempt to get them to go by faster by trying out new activities. For instance, I've been practicing this dance I observed on Tik Tok for the last 2 weeks. It's not difficult but I find it hard to do it again. The dance was invented by one of the most famous Tik Tok sisters. I'm old and don't know how to explain the dance.

I have been trying out various car-fixing videos lately. I don't have the ability to apply them immediately to my car , but I enjoy watching others create their vehicles to stop stopping. DIY videos are informative and easy to follow. Then I ran across another issue. I discovered that my internet would not be working any time soon. Therefore, I was unable to perform any useful tasks or even watch videos. Apparently I figured out how to download YouTube videos Youtube, place them on my phone and now in the absence of internet and I was able to watch the DIY videos directly from my phone. It doesn't matter whether you're watching the video on the phone, whether you stream it on an online site or online, or download video at home, and then stream it on your phone when there's no internet connection or wifi. It's as easy and straightforward as DVR.

In the spirit of television I've found a way you can download the latest episodes or films straight onto your laptop. Because my laptop has a larger screen and better speakers, I have taken it to work. I signed up with HULU and Netflix. I can now download their apps and watch movies instead of streaming them. The duration of the show as well as the quality settings will determine the speed at which the video will download onto my device. It will then be available all the time and without internet connection. Even though the TV is only 15 minutes long, it is enough for me to watch the previous night's episodes.

There are also informative or interesting material at home to take with you to work. This helps the time go by faster. Youtube's webinars regarding self-improvement techniques are an excellent resource. But, again it isn't easy to watch a 1-hour video and follow the information they're presenting. If you're aware of what I'm talking about... You know the issue I'm talking about?

Sometimes I bring my young son to work with me and it's during the times that my wife works her night shift too, making it impossible for us to stay at home with the kid. So I take him along and put him on the computer screens and he goes to sleep in no time. However, when he awakes and I hand him my laptop, along with a few of those freshly downloaded music videos. As he is watching all those talented young musicians do their crazy things on screens and he's happy. I am content to continue doing my thing via the phone.. This is the way we can get along better with each other, when we are doing our own thing. But he seems to like being with me, perhaps because he ends up staying awake for the majority of the night. savemedia Isn't that what kids want sometimes?
