How to install firmware update on Rocket (QCM4490)

You don't necessarily need to format your SD card before updating! The memory card you use every day can be used to update!

Download file named “APM1788. zip" and place him in the SD card in the root directory.

If you downloaded the firmware directly from the device and saved the file to a memory card, simply remove the card, then insert it back.

If you downloaded the firmware through another device (for example, a computer) and loaded it onto a memory card, simply insert it into the device.

After this, the file system detects that there is an update file in the memory card, a pop-up window will ask whether to update (you have 20 seconds to choose yes or no). If you do nothing, the update will begin in 20 seconds.

Update process

First, the update file will be copied to the internal storage location. The copying progress will go from 0% to 100%. After the copying is completed, a window will appear in the system with a hint that the device will reboot automatically.

Once the system reboots, you can remove the memory card and the remaining steps will be completed automatically. You just need to wait to enter the ApplePie Rocket (QCM4490) home screen again.

The entire update process takes about 5 minutes.

Note: during the update process, it is best not to turn off, and during the process of copying the upgrade file to the internal memory, do not remove the memory card. Of course, if the above situation occurs, ApplePie Rocket (QCM4490) will not be affected, and will work normally after a reboot. It's just that this time the update process will be canceled.
