High-quality tap water is available across the city and is safe to drink straight from the tap. Medical facilities in Cape Town are world-class. There is an excellent network of both state and private hospitals. Travel health insurance is highly recommended as the hospitals will bill you for your treatment. Pharmacies offer a wide variety of common drugs and meds. Exceptions not recommended, no matter how well you tan instead of burn.
