How to: Stake Axelar Mainnet

Hello Axelar community, Validatrium created a step-by-step tutorial on Staking process at Axelar Mainnet.

Important note: as we are dealing with Mainnet, please go through the entire tutorial and make sure that you understand each step! Also read Additional information section.

Here are the steps:

1. Add Keplr extension & register Axelar native wallet ($AXL)
2. Add Metamask extension & add Axelar wrapped token ($WAXL)
3. Convert Axelar wrapped token ($WAXL) to Axelar native token ($AXL) and vice versa
4. Stake Axelar native tokens ($AXL)
5. Check / Claim your staked Axelar native token rewards
6. Additional information

Add Keplr extension & register Axelar native wallet

Add Keplr extension to your google chrome (pic 1)

press 1. to open Keplr extension, 2. to open settings menu and 3. to create new account (pic 2 & pic 3)

you will be redirected to new tab, pick "create new account" (pic 4)

1. copy mnemonic seed (12/24 words) and store them in a safe place, 2. enter account name and 3. press "next" button (pic 5)
IMPORTANT NOTE: never provide your mnemonic seed to anyone, as it will expose access to your wallet.

1. insert mnemonic seed in the exact same order provided in the previous screen and 2. press "Register" button (pic 6)

1. open Keplr extension, 2. navigate to "network settings" and pick "Axelar" network (pic 7)

1. open Keplr extension, 2. make sure that you are on Axelar network and 3. copy your Axelar mainnet address for native tokens - $AXL (pic 8)
NOTE: Make sure your address starts with "axelar.....", save this address, you will need it for the following steps.

NOTE: if you already have $AXL native tokens, you may progress to step #3: Transfer Axelar native tokens to Keplr wallet.

Add Metamask extension & add Axelar wrapped token

Add Metamask extension to your google chrome (pic 9)

press 1. to open Metamask extension, 2. to open settings menu and 3. to create new account (pic 10)

1. enter name of your account (for example: Axelar_Staking_tutorial) and press "create" button (pic 11)

press 1. to open Metamask extension, 2. check if you are using the correct wallet you have created for Axelar wrapped tokens - $WAXL, 3. copy your wallet address (pic 12)

NOTE: In MetaMask extension your address will start with "0x.....", save this address, you will need it for the following steps.

press 1. to open Metamask extension, 2. press three vertical dots and pick 3. account details (pic 13)

press 1. "export private key" and save if somewhere safe. (pic 14)
IMPORTANT NOTE: never provide your private key to anyone, as it will expose access to your wallet.

Convert Axelar wrapped token ($WAXL) to Axelar native token ($AXL) and vice versa

Navigate to Satellite.money and connect both Keplr ($AXL) and MetaMask ($WAXL) wallets you have previously created.
Transferring $WAXL to $AXL, 1. pick "from Ethereum", 2. pick "to Axelar", 3. pick "i want to transfer wAXL", 4. press MetaMask fox icon to add WAXL token to your MetaMask asset list, 5. insert sum you would like to transfer, 6. insert/autofill Keplr Axelar native address ($AXL), 7. press "Generate Deposit Address" (pic 15)

Transferring $AXL to $WAXL, 1. pick "from Axelar", 2. pick "to Ethereum", 3. pick "i want to transfer AXL", 4. insert sum you would like to transfer, 5. insert/autofill MetaMask Axelar wrapped address ($WAXL), 6. press "Generate Deposit Address" (pic 16)

Stake Axelar native tokens ($AXL)

1. open Keplr extension, 2. make sure that you are on Axelar network and 3. pick the wallet with $AXL balance available, 4. check your current $AXL balance and 5. press "Stake" button (pic 17)

1. completing previous step you will be redirected to wallet.keplr.app/chains/axelar, 2. make sure Keplr extension is up and running, 3. check available balance, 4. insert name of your trusted validator and 5. press manage button (pic 18)
NOTE: it is strongly recommended to make your own research and carefully pick validator with high uptime, quick response rate and strong presence across the Cosmos Ecosystem.

1. in pop-up window check if you have chosen the correct validator and 2. press "delegate" button (pic 19)

1. insert desired $AXL amount you would like to delegate, make sure to leave some balance for commission upon claiming rewards or unstaking, and 2. press "delegate" button again (pic 20)
IMPORTANT: upon staking, your funds will be locked for 7 days, in order to be liquid again you will need to "undelegate" your stake.

1. in Keplr pop-up window check double-check delegation amount, 2. fee price and 3. press "Approve" button (pic 21)

on the top right side of your browser you will spot "Transaction successful" notification (pic 22)

Congratulations, you have successfully delegated your Axelar native tokens to a trusted validator!

Check / Claim your staked Axelar native token rewards

To claim rewards, 1. press "Claim" button, approve transaction in Keplr pop-up window.

Once rewards claimed, reload current page and 2. check "available balance" field (rewards must be transferred from "claimable rewards" field to "available balance")

You may delegate your rewards to validator to increase amount of your future gains by 3. pressing "manage" button and going the same steps you completed in "Stake Axelar native tokens ($AXL)" section.

Once staked, 4. check your Total Staked tokens (pic 23)

Un-bonding period (Stake lock period): 7 days
