How to Install & Play Minecraft Updates

MINECRAFT: JAV EDITION (PC /MAC)

Start by opening the Minecraft launcher. You can download the launcher here if you don't have it already. The launcher should show you the latest release. If it doesn't then click the arrow to right of the play button to select "Latest Release". Easy!

IOS and ANDROID

Open Google Play or App Store on your device and type in "Minecraft". If Minecraft is already installed you will be asked to upgrade it if it isn't. Just click "Open" to download the latest version.

XBOX

Select Minecraft from the "My Games & Apps" menu and then click the "more options" button. Select "Manage game and add-ons" from the menu. Next select "Updates". All updates will be listed here. If there aren't any updates here then your game is updated!

PLAYSTATION 4

Minecraft for PS4 will update automatically. If updates are not set to auto on your PS4 you can open the game's options using the 'options' menu and then select 'check for updates in the new menu.

WINDOWS

Minecraft for Windows should automatically update to the most recent version. If not, go to the Microsoft Store, select the three dots at the upper right corner and select "Downloads and updates". MINECRAFT GAMES Select "Get updates" to keep all your installed applications updated (including Minecraft).

NINTENDO SWITCH

You can begin Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition by simply opening the game. A window with information about the new version of Minecraft will open. Click the button in the window and you'll be taken to the eShop where you can download the latest Minecraft. Alternatively, you can visit the eShop and look for a game whose name is exclusively "Minecraft". Subscribe to our channel on Switch and we'll alert you of any future updates to your console!

FIRE TV

Click on the magnifying glass icon to go to Store. Type "Minecraft" and then click the download button to download the update. The icon will appear in the Home tab under "Recent" once it has been downloaded. To update Minecraft highlight Minecraft and press the menu button (3 horizontally aligned lines) and click "More Information". Under the games' description, the 'Update' button will be displayed and pressing it will initiate the update.
