A printer is an output device that represents an electronic document or soft copy on a physical medium. It is a popular peripheral device that prints computer data and images on a piece of paper, better known as hardcopy. A printer gets the "print " command from the computer to perform its task. Sometimes if a printer does not respond to "print" commands appropriately. One of the usual common problems that an Epson user faces is the "Epson printer won't print" issue. There are specific ways to resolve the problems. Let us discuss how to fix the problems.

First, check if all the plugs are connected to the printer properly or not. If so, then check the ink cartridge. Then also, if the printer does not work, follow the steps-

1.   Reinstall the printer: The problem can be resolved if the printer can be uninstalled and then installed again. You can uninstall the particular software from the "Apps and Features" option, restart your computer, then reinstall the software and see if it is working correctly.

2.   Update the printer driver: Sometimes, the printer driver asks for some updates. If it is not updated yet, you can update it by right-clicking on the device manager.

3.   Run the Printer troubleshooter: The printer's device needs to communicate with the printer to get a printout. If there is any problem with communication between the device and the printer, then the problem is non-physical. Windows Printer Troubleshooter can resolve these kinds of issues. For this, click on start, then type troubleshoot. A link will appear. Click on the link to run the printer troubleshooter.

4.   Check the error lights on the printer: Specific problems like printer jam or no ink etc. Usually, the printer shows the error through either a flash notification or a flash link that blinks. One can quickly identify the error and efficiently fix the problem through this.

5.   Clear the printer queue: Sometimes, if any document fails to print due to some problem, it forms a line in the computer's print queue with the older documents. In such cases, open the printer queue, remove the old documents and give the print command again.

6.   Ensure that you are selecting the correct printer: If you connect your device with multiple printers, sometimes, the printing computer decides on any other active printer except the one you are looking for. So, better to select the correct printer when giving the print command.

7.   Add a printer: If you're using your printer over wi-fi, it is an excellent option to add it to the Window's available printers option. "add a printer or scanner " option will help you do this. Allow your PC to search for available printers on the network, and when it finds the particular one, click on it to add the printer to your list. Now, you should be able to print a document over the wi-fi.

8.   Check the papers: Ensure that there are papers on the tray properly. Sometimes even if the papers are on the tray, appropriately loaded, the computer can not identify them. It thinks that papers are empty and shows up the error message. In such cases, re-align the papers properly and give the print command again.

9.   Paper jam: Sometimes, when printing a document, the paper gets jammed and can show up an error message. In such cases, to get the crumpled paper out, you need to open the access panel. If you are not sure, you can connect with a hardware person.

Sometimes, you might see this error message asking for paper jam, but you can't find any crumpled paper. In such cases, maybe smaller pieces of paper or some other material are stuck inside the roller. Take it out if so, then give the command again.

10. Problem with ink cartridge:Problem with ink cartridge: Sometimes, the printer cannot identify and shows the error message if you are using a third-party cartridge. In such cases, try to avoid using a third-party cartridge and use a genuine product.

11. Check the ink cartridge level: You can visit the control panel and check the status of your printer's ink cartridge if it displays the low amount of ink you need to refill it.
