How to Bridge ETH to BLAST Network

How to Bridge ETH to BLAST Network

Blast, Ethereum's newest Layer-2 network, is gaining attention as users bridge their ETH, engage in on-chain activities, and earn BLAST points. This guide explores how to begin your journey within the Blast ecosystem.

Bridge ETH to or from Blast

Blast initially introduced its own bridge, yet its efficiency proved lacking, leading to exorbitant gas fees for users. As an alternative, we recommend considering platforms like Rhino Finance, Owlto Finance or Orbiter Finance.

To bridge ETH to the Blast Network, your web3 wallet must have ETH in one of the other networks (for example, Base Network or ETH on the Optimism Network).

In this instance, we'll illustrate using Rhino.Fi as an example.

  1. Head to Rhino.Fi

2. Click on "Connect wallet" located at the top right corner of the page

3. Choose your wallet software and complete the signature process

4. Next, click on "Authenticate Wallet" in the pop-up window

5. Once authenticated, click on "Enable L2 access"

6. Complete another signature in your wallet software

7. You may optionally provide your email address, though we've omitted this step

8. Your wallet is now successfully connected

9. Specify the token you wish to transfer and from which chain

10. Select "ETH on Blast" as the destination at the bottom

11. Hit "Bridge"

12. If necessary, switch networks in your wallet software

13. Finally, confirm the transaction within your wallet software

The bridging process will begin, and its duration may vary up to several minutes.

If you want to protect your funds from losses due to fees, we recommend using ETH on the Base Network or ETH on the Optimism Network for bridging, as the fees on these networks are among the lowest.

While bridging to and from Ethereum incurs significant expenses, transitioning between different Layer-2 networks will only set you back not more then $2.

Rhino.fi announced that they will not charge any service fees for bridging to Blast until 31 March 2024.

Avoid utilizing Blast's built-in bridge

Avoid utilizing Blast's proprietary bridge. Crafted by Pacman, the mastermind behind Blur, Blast boasts intriguing and innovative mechanics. While the native yield is undoubtedly appealing, there's a catch. Those seeking to transfer their earnings from Blast back to the Ethereum mainnet will encounter a withdrawal delay with Blast's native bridge.

Upon initiating a withdrawal, users must endure an initial wait of at least 1 hour before verifying their withdrawal. Following this, another waiting period of 14 days ensues before the actual withdrawal occurs.
