How entrepreneurs think
Admin
The majority of people spend money on basic necessities, entertainment, and other needs. Entrepreneurs, however, spend money with the goal of earning even more. Thus, the main difference between the rich and the poor lies in their habits. What habits do entrepreneurs have that others do not?
Let's consider an ordinary lottery winner in this context. Most of them will spend their millions within a few years, as their goal is to spend money on their own pleasure and improving their lives. When a person buys a house, they buy the most expensive one their money can afford. If their salary increases, they immediately need to buy a new car. And when they don't have enough money, regular people take out loans.
For an entrepreneur, such behavior seems absurd. Money is merely a means of earning. For example, Warren Buffett and his friend, during their second year of university, bought a used arcade machine for $25 and turned it into a profitable source of income. Regular teenagers wouldn't have done that. Everything else stems from this principle.
1. Financial prudence.
An aspiring entrepreneur saves their profits to increase their income. It is easy to recognize an aspiring entrepreneur who is not succeeding - they spend a lot of money. And even after reaching wealth, most businessmen still live frugally. They may spend a lot, but always less than what they earn.
2. Developing skills that have a synergistic effect.
The entrepreneur views their skills as investments. If time is spent, it must bring profits. Entrepreneurs typically are self-taught and hardworking. They work on themselves and become people who achieve wealth.
3. Assets must also work together.
Working alone will not make one rich. Entrepreneurs quickly realize that it is most profitable to own a company, as their efforts are multiplied by the efforts of subordinates. Bill Gates, perhaps, was a good programmer, but alone, he would never have earned $50 billion. Therefore, smart entrepreneurs strive for shares in companies.
4. Conscious time and attention management.
Time and attention are our only truly limited resources. They are very easy to waste. Successful entrepreneurs keenly feel this and are usually highly organized, intolerant of inefficiency, and focused on the task at hand. Many well-known businessmen wear the same clothes every day, claiming that there is no time to waste on choosing.
5. Positive realism.
To make the right decisions - because they are what make people wealthy - it is necessary to accurately assess the odds. Life can sometimes be unpleasant, difficult, and confusing, and it is not always easy to see its brighter side. But when full information is unavailable, it is better to look at the world from a positive perspective. Pessimists never become successful entrepreneurs.
