How do you stay occupied during long hours as a security officer at an underground facility
It's tough times. I find it difficult to navigate this new world of gig economy just as well as the old one. I had a great time at my previous job but I was let go from my dental assistant job. Now, I have to work night shifts at the local manufacturing plant for machines. It is almost entirely automated. The workers are there throughout the day while me and two engineers make up the night crew. I have an emergency number that I call if something goes wrong and some of the machinery stops without a visible resume time in sight. I call engineers and/or call the outside line for more engineers. savemedia I do nothing. The thing is, they are not even producing anything valuable here and so nighttime guard is really just an ordinary switch board attendant..
However I really like it. It's peaceful. Even though I'm a spooky sleeper and sometimes, I get up due to excessive gas release in the night. Here, however it's peaceful. It's boring to spend the night and try new things to speed up the process. I've been spending the last two week perfecting the dance I saw on Tik Tok. While it's not difficult it's very difficult for me to recreate the dance. It was invented by young Tik Tok girl. I'm too old to know how to describe the dance.
I've been experimenting with various car repair videos recently. I'm not able to immediately apply them to my car but I love seeing other people make their cars stop-stopping. Same goes for any DIY videos, - they're often informative and enjoyable to follow. Then I ran into another problem. Sooner or later internet was not functioning on my phone, so I couldn't watch anything or engage in any activity in any way, since as we've seen, nowadays there is no internet connection including those quick and simple "do it yourself" videos.... and so I found a wonderful solution - preparation.. I discovered how to download Youtube videos onto my phone. So, now, even if internet speeds are slow I am able to watch diy videos from my phone. You are able to play the video on your smartphone regardless of whether it's streaming on Youtube or elsewhere online. If you download video at work, you can also play it using your phone when there isn't internet access. The same applies to DVR for streaming online videos.
In the spirit of television and movies, I've discovered how you can download the latest episodes or films straight to your laptop. I brought my laptop to work because it has a larger screen and better speakers. It's much simpler to watch TV shows there. I joined HULU and Netflix. I can now download their app and enjoy movies instead of streaming them. The show's duration and the quality settings determine the speed at which the movie will download onto my device. Then it'll be available all the time, without internet access. The show is only 15 minutes, but it allows me to watch the last episode I missed while on my train ride to work.
There are also educational or interesting materials at home to carry with you when working. This helps the time go by quicker. Youtube's webinars are wonderful. However, it's hard to concentrate on the message even when interrupted many times. It's easy to see how. In these situations, I again try to prepare at home, and download YouTube video in mp4 format to my laptop, and watch it any time at work, no restrictions on wifi, no wifi needed at all The file is DVR-ed on my laptop there is no risk of it going bad no matter how spotty the wifi, it is not necessary for me in this situation.
My son is sometimes with me on my way to work. This is the time that my spouse works her evening shift and it is impossible for us not to leave home. Therefore, I take my son along, set him by the computer screens where I can monitor my own work and in a matter of minutes, he's asleep.. I then give him my laptop, which includes a couple of music videos that I downloaded, and he sits down to watch the crazed young artists playing on the screen. I am happy to do my thing with the phone, but when he awakes, he's awake. Being our own person is the best way to work together. He seems to really enjoy being with me, perhaps because he ends up staying all night, isn't it what children want at times?
