How To Save Money On Robot Vacuum And Mop
Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable. They pass our tests on cleaning and can take care of different flooring. Find models that allow you to select from a variety of modes, and use their charging dock to self-empty, and clean up the stairs.
A lot of the top models are compatible with smartphones. Look for an app that lets you save maps, create schedules and select cleaning options.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gloss black and gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is among the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos available. It uses lidar for navigation making maps of floors and rooms.
When I tried the S1, it was able to map the downstairs area, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, as well as carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was capable of driving up to walls and even cross thresholds that are raised without issue. However, it had some difficulty getting down the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a great job cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on the flat side against the floor, and then lifting its own weight when it reaches carpet or rugs.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and refills the water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also adds a cleaning solution to the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1's water tank holds enough for about 12 cleaning sessions before it has to be emptied, though this will vary depending on how much you use the mop.
The S1 requires periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to avoid it becoming clogged. You will also need to clean your sensors and swivel wheel regularly to avoid them becoming clogged up with dust or dirt. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robotic mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a great choice for your cleaning needs. Its robot vacuum boasts 8700Pa of suction and comes with a number of innovative features, including full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning to avoid obstacles and cleans around furniture. The mopping capabilities of the robot are remarkable, with mops rotating that actually lift and scrub the floor rather than simply dragging the pad across it. The mops can be cleaned and dried at the base station, if required.
This robot combo has an easy-to-use interface that guides you through the process. It also comes with a hand vacuum which can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are also two water tanks that can be automatically emptied or refilled. It also has a number of settings that can be used to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a great vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful suction that can easily remove dust and debris that other robots have trouble with. Its navigation capabilities are decent, but it can be stuck on small mats and rugs in my home (which you can mitigate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). The mopping capabilities are quite impressive, and comes with two spinning mop heads that actually lift and scrub floors, as opposed to simply dragging the pad over it. The mops can also be cleaned with heated water, and dried in the base station as needed. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station as needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their latest flagship model has even more impressive features. It is a great cleaner and is easy to maintain. This makes it a top contender on our list of the top mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition, and an extended side brush will give you a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, removing large and fine particles from hard floors as well as carpets. It also cleaned our tests' dirtiest areas well, keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other mess. The sweeping capability of the machine is enhanced by a sidebrush which automatically extends to reach hard-to-reach areas, and mop pads that run across baseboards.
Its navigation system is nimble, navigating narrow spaces and negotiating stairways without missing a step. It can go from one room to the next without having to reverse direction. This is beneficial for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than some competitors However, it tends to leave a thick space over obstacles, which can result in missed spots.
The app's interface is intuitive and easy to use. It should be simple to use by both novice and experienced users. The app allows you to schedule and manage cleanings, alter mopping and suction power settings, view 2D and 3D maps, and more. You can control it through the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. However, you will need a stable Wi-Fi connection to operate it through the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
A robot vacuum does an excellent job of removing dirt and debris but it's not always able to be able to reach every bit of dust. It's essential to clean your home often, at least once a week. This is particularly important for dust that accumulates in corners, on shelves, and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums and mops, is designed to do just that. It is easy to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network and it works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the company's pricier S-series models, including the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it is cheaper because it doesn't come with mopping capabilities and has an aluminum body.

Although it's no longer able to mop floors, the Q5 has some of the best vacuum and mopping performance we've seen from a robot in this price range. It's got a powerful suction power of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system so you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. automated vacuum cleaner has a clever application that lets you choose the type of floor and schedule cleanings, and an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system for hands-free operation.
Its mops also impress with its 2700Pa power to combat pet hair and dirt, on both carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 was one of the few robots that we tested did not show issues with high-pile carpets and rugs. However, it could not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't a surprise because it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle-avoidance features.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also has an innovative mapping system that lets it reach corners and tight places that other vacuums can't. This device also stores dust in a larger dustbin that means you have empty it less frequently. Additionally, it has washable filters that further lower the costs associated with using the device. The robot can also recognize carpets and boost the suction if needed. You can also mark off areas you would like to be able to keep from using the app.
