Bentley estimates that it takes 500 man-hours on average to construct and build a Mulsanne. A key to that time-consuming effort is a reluctance to take advantage of modern technology. The Crewe factory workers don't use a machine to space perfectly-matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. Instead of letting the car's built in sensors guide it to parallel and perpendicular parking spaces drivers must do it manually.
Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization abilities with a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays tribute to William Osler, the founder of Bentley. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the founding father of the brand, William Osler Bentley. The limited-edition cars come with the key with a special design that shows a small portion of the 1930 8 Litre's crankshaft.
